What do you mean by hardware?

I previously upgraded my lines to stainless steel, and I've switched to a higher temp brake fluid.

I had my rotors turned before I put on my Axxis Ultimate pads.

Other than that, everything's stock.

It's just about time for me to replace the front pads again, and I've got some StopTech slotted rotors that I'm going to put on there when I do that, but not till spring.

The lines sucked IMO. 'Course, that was one of the early things I did, I've since learned a lot about how to work on the car w/o stripping bolts. The problem I had was the RF line's nut was totally frozen. I use tons of Liquid Wrench, to no avail. And since the only tool I had that kinda worked were plain old pliars, I totally stripped the outside of the nut. I got it back on, but the nut's just this rounded nub, covered with teeth marks... doesn't even look like a hex any more.. :lol: Oh well, I shouldn't ever have to take it off again, since it's not on the caliper end.

Well when I was helping The Lude's friend replace his brake lines and pads, it seems like the most trouble is adding the fluid and doing the flush. Putting them on seemed fairly easy, but again this is a older civic.

The pads were kinda a pain also.

You guys are scaring me, one of my goals this year is to learn to do my own brakes.

Does anyone have a power-bleeder? Those are supposed to work really well, to the point that you can do it yourself.

Does anyone have a power-bleeder? Those are supposed to work really well, to the point that you can do it yourself.

Order some speed-bleeders and you can do it yourself. They're little one-way check valves that you screw in place of the stock bleed valve on each caliper.. just go around to each caliper succesively when you want to bleed the system and pump the brake pedal, the fluid pumps out of the caliper but the check valve doesn't let air back in when you let the brake pedal out, so it's a 1-person job instead of two.

Yep, I got speedbleeders too. Pretty cheap (compared to a power bleeder) and easy to use. Plus you can use them at the track to firm up the brakes (if there's any air in them) right before going out.
