I got the ones that came with the old Vishnu Stage 0. I think Vishnu doesn't even bother with colder plugs now that they've swtiched to EcuTek for engine management.

From what I understand, you want a set of plugs "one step colder" than stock. But I'm not sure what that means...

Y eah I know that its makes your engine run cooler. What I realy wanted to know is should I go for VX Platinum or Iridium IX NGK plugs.

Christ that's a lot of money for plugs! Do the exotic materials really make that much of a difference? How much power do they add? How much cooler is the motor? If it's not really quantifiable, is it worth it?

Those are not worth it there just NGK's with the STI logo on them. I am going with just the NGK logo ones and there still like 50$ I think the better metal makes difference .

Okay, I did a little research on spark plugs.

Iridium is beng used these days in the top of the line plugs becasue of its strength. Basically, it means an iridium plug will last longer than platnium or whatever.

However, because iridium is so much stronger, they can build plugs with much smaller electrodes, which provides a better, cleaner spark, while lasting just as long as other materials.

Do the STi NGK sparks plugs use Iridium?

For $150, I fucking hope so!! Actually, I have no idea.... all I know is that the iridium ones are the latest and greatest, and cost a lot.

I wonder how much it would be for a set of the Iridium IX plugs would be. I need some new ones bad.

I am just going to wait till I get the Vishnu Stage 0, which won't be towards the end of summer. I think with only 8,000k on my car, my sparks should be kickin fine still.

They say that the stock plugs will last till 100.000 miles but I think one of mine is fouling out at 30.000 miles so.

We have the NGK Iridium and Laser Platinum at work. I think the Iridiums were around $8 each, and the Platinums were like $12 a piece. I'm gonna try some Iridiums when I change my plugs soon. I don't know if we stock the ones a step colder, but I'm sure we could order them.

LoL - If you pay for the STI plugs your an idiot  Get the colder burning NGK NGKBP7ES (or NGKBPR7ES same difference). Spark plug gap should be set at .030" for up to 16psi boost. Set at .028" for 17psi and up.
