View Full Version : CompUSA Geek Meet Fri. 3/19
CompUSA is having one of there 6 hour sales Friday 6PM-midnight.
I think this is their 20th anniversary or something.
Flyer should be in Friday's paper, or on the web. Usually some good deals on something.
Usually a little bit of a line starting right around 4:30-5:00.
Hang out, Eat Taco Bell, Wendy's...
Takers?

I'm a bit of a technology geek and can always use more stuff. Someone post when they know what might be offered.

I'm a bit of a technology geek and can always use more stuff. Someone post when they know what might be offered. Not sure if it will be on line. Should be in the morning paper though! I didn't see it in today's.
Here is the link to the Adds 2 pages I think...
Anything on Page 2 actually is on sale all day, so if it is a good deal, you may want to go in the AM..

And I lied. It was in Thursday's paper, not today's. I missed it when I looked yesterday. Most of the stuff on the front page looks like pretty good deals.

well when you think of it that way...........Games these days can take up to and beyond 3 gigs so it might be the way to go
not to mention it might teach them a leason about going to those websites <porn> that when the hard drive goes down again you lose a lot of loading time
but hopefully that stuff will be gross to them for atleast 7 more years 8)

That notebook really is a killer deal. 15" TFT, DVD CD-RW for under $700. And as long as you aren't a hard core gammer, that desktop rocks as well for $300. And the 8X burner is really good since it is $100 out the door and $20 rebate. I think my 4x 4a $120 out the door, and $40 rebate 2 months ago.
Don't know much about the camera, but for $150 giv it to the kids and let them go wild...

I need to pick up a hard drive so I need to go.....thinking about getting there around 5:00ish I'm sure the lines will be long anytime after 4:30 so just grab what you need and we can hang out in line :?
lots of good stuff what time? do we want to meet somewhere?I plan on leaving the office at 4:30. Anybody real hot for the notebook, or PC should probably get there at 4:30 or so.
it is hard to tell. for all I know, there may already be a line a 3PM. But last ime I di this, I was #1 or 2 at 4:30 as I recall.
How bad do you want it? We are not going to be able to let a ton of people cut without getting people pissy, so I would suggest anyone wanting cuts be there by 5.
I have 4 or 5 folding chairs in my car, but bring your own if you want. I'll set mine up when I get there to save spots.

I really would go...but a apoontment for 5:30 called in. So I won't be out till about 6. The home show is coming up, that's my big flyer handing out event. We are going to have a booth also.

I could make it later, but then you guys would have bought all the good stuff.
PS - Theater ad has done nothing business wise, just helps with the name recognition...I don't know if its worth it at 4,500$ a year. Might be taking it down soon.

BTW, it looks like some of this is already available online. The 160GB hard drive, DVD writer, DVD+RW media, and USB flash drive are all listed for online ordering. I could use a hard drive (kinda -- you'd think 320GB of space would be enough as it is) and I wouldn't mind having a USB flash drive, but I'm still pondering.

Not sure if I'll make in time either. I was looking for a smokin' deal on a USB external Hard Drive. Other than that, I'll just spend money for the sake of spending money!
You may see me there Dean.
