Dang I might sell my stockers and use the money for some 17" rotas to use in the winter instead of stock. Of course that is if i really get used the 17" feeling,a nd dont want to go back for winter.

Stockers are better for winter... you want lots of skinny tire on there in the snow... check out the 15"x4" rims the rally teams use at Sweden. Get some good studless snow tires for the stock rims, and you're set!

Remember, the stock Subaru rims are actually pretty light at about 15 lbs for a 16" rim. Plus they're really strong, and easy to find replacements for.

Those look good for rally-cross, but I'd worry about tire roll-over on a 15" rim at an auto-cross. Unless you've got some race slicks for 'em, the side wall on a 15" rim is prolly too soft.

Lighter is better... and smaller diameter mean less rotational enertia, which helps acceleration... but if your tire is rolling over onto the sidewalls, you're giving up traction and that's worse than any gains from a smaller rim.

There's also a gearing effect from a small over-all diameter... so potentially a light 15" rim, with a 30 series tire would be really fast, but that's so small you have to worry about bottoming out the car.. lol!

I think light 17" rims are probably the optimal rims for autocrossing a WRX. Esp. wide 17" rims... like a 17"x8" with 245's, but there's fitment issues with tires that wide...

You should see if you can get a shop to fit my 17x8 race wheels to your WRX bolt pattern to fit on your car, I'll probably be getting rid of them when this set of race tires wears out. They're both 5-lug, who knows it might work. :lol: Hehe, a WRX with stock 95 mustang tri-bar wheels... that might look kinda cool.

Oh, and those rims are ugly. :P Now, the cobra rims.... *much better*! That reminds me, I saw my TBird in the Walmart parking lot!! Cobra rims still on that bad-boy... looking good! The chick that owns it got all the bumper damage repaired!

Well, the oil problems may really have only been Jiffy Lube's fault not putting in enough oil... or it really was burning a lot of oil... I'm not sure. But the electrical problems (doors locking / unlocking by themselves and esp. the a/c saying it's 100+ degrees on a 50 deg. day... that was the real crap. I wonder if the new owner got that fixed....

Next time I see the car, I should put a note on the windsheild offering to buy it for $2000. lol

Seriously, resurrect the T-Bird! And then get a good front air dam/rear spoiler body kit and some black rims & Goodyear eagle tires so it looks like a stock car. 8)
