Of all the randomness... we went down to get a burger the other night on Grand st. in Grover, and as we get there & order our burgers police are barricading off this long section of Grand st. Then all these muscle & sports cars start cruising up & down the street for like an hour... it felt like I was in Reno! I was tempted to run back home and get the Mustang to join the party, but decided eating my burger was more important...

Went to the Peppermill last night. Lots of cool cars. As usual, there was a area set aside for cars to cruise by. We stood there for a few minutes watching. I was overcome with exhaust fumes from either poorly tuned engines, bad rings on engines or just lots of unburned fuel spewing out of the exhaust pipes. P-U!

I never experience this around our finely tuned Subarus!

That's probably just the out of towners w/ their cars tuned for sea-level... they come up here, and there's no ECU to lean out the A/F so they blow fuel. blech!

And, like the elderly gentleman with the S/C '55 said the other day,
"I only put race fuel in it when I'm cruising --- they love the smell when I drive by!"

Yes, but does it really have to drip out of the side-pipe onto my shoes?

Back in '01 when my car was about a month old, I was rolling Virgina during HAN. There were some kids out watering the street to get people to do burnouts in front of them (I'm sure the cars behind the burn-outs love the fact they were getting sprayed with water and rubber ).

Anyway, this was before the WRX was hardly even known yet, but these kids were on top of things and yelled at me "AWD BURNOUT!!! AWD BURNOUT!!!"

Even on RE92's in the wet, I probably would have just chirped the tires and then accelerated into the car in front of me (stock torque + my bad driving at the time), so I didn't try, but it was one of the 1st times someone "noticed" my WRX. (Since then it's been all downhill...)

I have had many people tell me:

"Hey is that a WRX?"
"Yes"
"No its not...Wagon's don't have turbo's!"
"Um.....okay....."
