Tire Size?

Got the 18x7.5 5x100 rims. I would like some nice rubber for street. I wouldlike good performance, but none extreme since these will not be used for racing (maybe track day).

Suggestions?

Oh dude...Eric has a brand new set of Pirelli P Zeros in his garage that he needs to sell...I had them on my 18 x 8.5's, and they were too narrow, but they are a perfect fit on a wagon with a 7.5 inch rim. I know he'll make you a great deal on them, and they're sweet tires, I wish they would have worked out for me...I'll talk to Eric tomorrow if you're intersted.

BTW, for your wagon on those rims, you want a 225x 40 18.

Yes they are M+S, but they are defiantely more of a summer tire IMO. Mud and snow means simply that they are safe to operate in weather that a straight summer tire is not.

M+S or not, they are not a snow tire. They rock in the wet, but snow is out of their league by a bit. Been there, done that in the A4 with 225-17 Rossos. RE92s are better in the snow IMHO.

Actually the Neros are only $118 each for 225/40/18, but they are on backorder in that size. Could be a week or a month, there's no way to tell. Kumho MX are the same price and in stock, those are a great tire, but won't last as long as the Neros or the Falken ST-115s. Which are $107 each. I don't think you could go wrong with any of these tires, so if you can get a good deal on the Pirellis, then go for it. They should be a bit better in the rain, but I doubt if they are as quiet as the Falkens. The MXs will be the grippiest for sure, but they will be noisier and shorter lived than the other two.

I PM'd you Art. I think that's a typo from subydude, cause there's only like 5 tires made in that size and they're all bank. 215/40/18 seems to be the wagon's popular size, and it's much closer to the stock diameter 205/55/16.

Haha, sure will. I'm running 225/45/17 RE070's (STi tires) on my wagon, which has considerably less clearance than a WRX wagon. You should be able to clear most normal 225's with no problem, or just pulling off the black rubber fender lip (it's filled with metal) will give you another 3-4mm, which will fix most light rubbing issues. Ask any of the SECCS guys about my wagon, I can make anything clear ;)

Yeah, the 225/40-18's eric has wont rub. Those are the perfect size tires for a wagon.
