I went ahead and got in on a group buy for a set of Rota Tarmac 17's, from Suby_Dude. I was having no luck tracking down what I wanted for private sales, so I splurged. I wanted to get some in Bronze, but they sold out so I got a set of steel greys. Scott, i saw that you were browsing that Rota thread on Nasioc, looks like there are still some Grey's left at the GB price, I know you want gold though, I don't blame you. But 430 shipped is hard to beat.
Now all I need is my new Azenis, and its time to tear it up.

Hey wait a second, I thought you were getting coil-overs. Or are you still getting them. Big Spender!

Yeah no shit, haha, I really do enjoy it.
You know, I foresee the STX division getting VERY competitive. With Theo in the other WRX wagon owning things, Sperry moving to STX, Ty with his Kumho's (and no excuse not to race 8) ), it should make for some great events in the near future. Now if only Ryan, Art, Evan and Phil would join in, we'd have some serious representation.
HAHA, I think I'm really gonna regret all the track time Tyson has got from my passenger seat, he has as much track time as me, so he's seen plenty examples of what NOT to do...haha,
see ya

I put coil overs to #2 on my list for now, i need traction bad! Big spender is right, I've been spending a lot on the car lately. damn
$$$'s..... and so it starts.
Didn't anyone tell you about the addiction part?
I actually want another set of low-weight wheels so I can try out some hoosiers. Anyone seen any good deals on 16's?

Next Auto-x Ill run for sure. I still am positive I will look like a idiot, but where's the fun in not trying it at least once. If I suck too bad, I may not run again after that though.
Edit: Scratch that. I didn't know it was this upcoming weekend. I am going to be in California. Damn. That means I'll have to wait for the Hawthorne Auto-x.

I'm positive you're Not going to look like an idiot. My bet is you're going to like it, maybe even love it. Start out not by comparing yourself to others, but by comparing your last run to your first, and you'll probably find you improved on your very first day! Also remember to enjoy the feel of how your car handles & know that it will practically pull you through the course, if you tell it to.

I'd love a set of Tarmacs for my daily driver rims... but I've already got a set of 18" Subz for that...
The Tarmacs weigh in at over 19lbs each... that's a good 4 lbs per rim over the Attacks I'm trying to get. And unsprung weight is the evil enemy of the autocrosser!!
I can prolly find some white Attacks... but white rims have teh suck... unless they're the real Gram Lights, and not the replicas. Maybe I'll just get the white ones anyway... it's for racing after all, who cares what they look like, right?

That's a great deal... I spent almost $600 on my royal silver Subz. However, if you plan on racing on them, 17's will handle better and allow you to accelerate quicker. But for daily driving, the 18's have teh BLING!
Man, you're making me want some gold rims!!
Pretty soon we'll have so many wheels/tires between us, we may need to look into chipping in on a shared storage room!
