Don't forget harness pads, or you'll have a nice matching pair of welts on the sides/back of your neck!
Best deal on harness pads is Walmart, or ebay...
I have run a Scroth 4 point for over 4 years. Good stuff.

I have run a Scroth 4 point for over 4 years. Good stuff.
Since I'm tall and I was a bit worried the back seat lower buckles might not be back far enough to have a < 45deg angle, I got the Rallye 3 that attaches to the c-pillar. Been using it for 2 years, works good.
Austin (AtomicLabMonkey) has the Rallye 4 in his Mustang.
Both are good harnesses, and the only ones that are DOT legal.
I'd like to thank everyone that showed up with readable numbers and class, and encourage those of you who had paper or tape to spend a couple bucks and make or buy some for the next event.
Tripp Plastics has 24" wide rolls of white magnetic vinyl that you cut easily with a good pair of scicors, or xacto, or utility knife. I think it is under 10 bucks per foot, maybe as low as $7
Print out some 900 point font numbers and trace them on and cut them out. Class letters can be smaller.
I'll check the rules tonight for exact figures. I'm pretty sure the numbers have to be at least 8" high, and 1.25" stroke (width of the line the numbers are made from.

Yeah, sorry about the world's smallest "STX" logo... I only had some scrap material left over from my 04 NSM magnets. They'll be bigger for the next event...
How late's Tripp open, and where are they located?

So can I just pick any number I want now? As long as someone else doesn't have it? Do I have to let someone know which one I pick?

You should pick a 0X number.... so far:
00 - Evan
01 - The Duke Boys
03 - Austin
04 - Me
I dunno what Matt and Tyson were thinking! 49 and 38.. <scoff!> ;)

HAHA!!!! Sunday was a great day for cars #49...Did you see Ken Schrader's crash at Pocono? Holy Shit!
Well, Maybe next year I'll switch to a 0X number....007? 000? 05...nah, looks ghey. "Ox numbers are for ____________ "
49 has always been my number...always will be,
Reno members get priority on numbers, and as long as no other member running in your class has that number, you can have it. We reccomend 2-3 digit numbers.
If you want to read it, it is section 3.7 of the rule book, but here is the jist.
Numbers:
Minimum 8" tall, 1.25" line width. 900 point should meet this requirement in most fonts.
Class: Rules just say class shouls be smaller. I would suggest 6" as a minimum.
Tripp Plastics is in the book, but are in the retail strip east of terminal and Mill on the south side of Mill.
I also forgot to mention that Summit has Spray vinyl dye in a bunch of colors that you can use on the numbers after you cut them out, or be real fancy and stencil them on the sheet.
Please use a contrasting color. Yellow on white, or navy blue on black are bad choices.
For some reason, probably due to a venturi effect or something, big sheets blow off easier than individual cut out numbers and letters.
You can also buy pre made numbers and letters on-line. do a google search, or check out Grassroots motorsports magazine. Tons of ads in there.

I dont know if you guys have a Michaels up there, but thats where I got my magnetic sheets from to make my really really ghetto looking numbers  Cost me like $10 to make 6 numbers (4 1's) and two little ST-X logos :p
Yes, you can be 747. What, do you think you are a wide body or something? You relize the objective is to stay on the ground, not take off... 8^)
Sure, be 3.14, just make the decimal point very small, and keep the spacing between the numbers the same, so most people don't notice. They might think you are prone to spinning though.
I haven't seen the Michael's material, but the Tripp stuff appears to be holding up well. I think I've ben using mine well over 2 years now.
I did hear a good idea over the weekend. To keep them from curling, keep them under your floor mats. I always try and put them on the roof for a while before I put them on to warm them up and make them more flexible.
Yes, you can be 747.

Okay. I will be 747 STX. I couldn't think of any other number, so that one worked.
How did I get that alias/call sign/handle/whatever anyway?
Sorry, we are going to limit you to 3 digits, so Mole Man is SOL.
For RNP, only the class is supposed to be upside down. Sue got carried away... or maybe I told her to flip the numbers also. Whatever.
The only one this will be an issue for is SS. they can put their's sideways.
Maybe sideways is a good idea anyway... Hmmm

IM GOING!! IM GOING!! IM GOING!!! okay, enough caps... I shall be there this weekend... *does a happy dance* it was either go pick up my exhaust in the bay area or go to Reno and race.... easy decision.. i ordered my exhaust AND will be going to Reno... yeah baby.
For those who aren't on the renoscca e-mailing list, following is an excerpt for this weekend's events:
This weekend we have Reno points events 9 and 10, the "biggest little autocross" hosted by John Riggs Jr. and III. Besides a course that will surely prove to be fun and challenging, after both the morning and afternoon run groups on Saturday we will have a 16-driver challenge and runoff. The 16 drivers with the closest raw times will be entered into the challenge, with prizes for the winners as well as some additional awards.
After the event on Saturday, the Riggs will host a happy hour at the Flowing Tide Pub (on 10580 N McCarran, near 7th st.). Anyone who wants to come is welcome.

Also, the lady making them for me thought it would be cool if they were color changing..........is that legal?

Usually chrome and color changing numbers are illegal.
Actually, I answered this in a an earlier event thread i think, but here it is againa:
If you want to read it, it is section 3.7 of the rule book, but here is the jist.

Uniform color, and in contrst with the color of the car. So Color changing is probably out...
Hope that helps.
