View Full Version : Why is the sightings thread locked?

Because it sucks. I started it , I can end it. Maybe someone will reopen it, but when all I read is ..."I saw myself in a reflection today" and " I saw an Sti at a car lot today" I fell it's time to close it down.
The sightings thread could be cool, but it's veered WAY off course.
let it go quietly :)
Lol, okay, but I'd just let Sperry rant a couple more times and I'm sure everyone'd stop posting, "I saw what I think was either an STI or an Evo maybe on I80 today...or was it 395?"

:D Okay, that's your free pass. No mas :D
Perhaps if someone were to start a proper sighting thread in which "members" were spotted, it could stay, otherwise....it's useless.
Purge it from the database along with the picture hosting thread, and we get 90% of our disk space back :)
P.S. I saw what I think was a cool car, but it could have been a magazine while getting a haircut... :P

Eh, I kinda liked being able to post about ugly brown WRXs being driven by fools, but oh well. :nerd:

There needs to be rules, structure. Maybe somebody should create a member named "The Dictator" to just bitch people out when they are stupid. And then nobody would know who it was, and we could all be happy together. Or unhappy together.
What's the point of anonymity Jonny? Seems to me the mods/members here have no issues with layin' the smack down, publicly. Makes for entertainment if nothing else. But if that role is created, I think we should take turns smack layin'. :D

Haha, an account where everyone knows the password. That'd be fun for a bit, but thats just asking for trouble.

Instead of The dictator we could just use The Dick

Hahaha, I know that would get out of hand.

It might make for a very interesting experiment though!
It might make for a very interesting experiment though!Yes, yes it would. An interesting Psychology experiment.
Do we get extra points for guessing who The Dick is?

The only correct answer would always be sperry.

If you couldnt see the humor in my seeing my reflection then perhaps you should get out more. Jesus Christ man...I agree seeing a billion stock STi's was kind of redundant. And I am just as guilty of seeing some relatively mundane subaru's but the point is I dont know everyone on the board or what cars they drive, and by sighting them, I was hoping to get an idea who they were, or if IT was anyone on the board. Yea I have only gone to one meet, so far! I thought the point of the thread, which I think I reopened when I started here was to say hey...I saw a cool car, or someone we knew. So its my fault blame me.....

Now now, we've all been The Dick from time to time. For instance, shutting down a thread simply because you don't like it's content is kind of a "dick" thing to do. :P

No, I realize you guys enjoy wielding your power, as you should.
They are only admins so they can change their handle/Subtitle/whatever it is under thier Screen Names.
Yes, well, that's the sort of philistine pig ignorance I have come to expect from you non-creative garbage. You sit there on your spotty behinds, picking black heads and not giving a tinker's cuss for us struggling artists. You excrement! You whining, hypocritical toadies with your color TV sets and your Tony Jacklin golf clubs. Well I wouldn't become a [Moderator] (was: Free Mason) now if you got down on your lousy, stinking, purulent knees and begged me!

The thread is reopened...It was always my intention to reopen it. I even posted a proper sighting to prove it can be done. Now please, less BS okay?
Oops, okay, from now on. Thank you Sir.
