Alrighty... so it's been over a week since my WI kit was shipped to Gruppe-S, and Mike still hasn't been able to get it up and running. The pump won't stay primed, or some shit.... maybe he'll chime in and add some specific information about the issues he's been having, but the point is, he's been having issues.
Enough issues to the point that Mike's been talking w/ the owner of Aquamist, replacing parts on the kit, and generally wasting tons of hours to get nowhere with the installation.
So I'm just going to send the kit back. Considering the risk for disaster if the WI should fail, and the total lack of reliability so far, the added power just isn't worth the risk or expense.
If anyone else is thinking about going Water Injection, and isn't building a drag car, you might want to think twice.
So use meth. injection instead.

Um, meth injection is the exact same hardware as water injection... just put methanol in the tank instead of water. The problem is the pump if I'm not mistaken, that would be broken no matter what we are spraying.
Also, only WI is legal in the SCCA rulebook... methanol is not.
Anyway, Mike's gonna give things one last look over, but unless we know exactly why it's failing, we're gonna scrap the install. Also, if we do make it work, I'm gonna have to order their sensor kit that monitors and displays the state of the system, just for piece of mind.
Let me re-phrase, so don't use an Aquamist kit. Quite a few of the Atlanta guys run meth. injection from Topspeed, I assume this is the kit...

On paper, the Aquamist 2d is a bit nicer than that kit.

I haven't been looking too much but this is the first I've heard of someone havig problems with the AM stuff. I kinda have it on my upgrade path. :(

Yeah, I haven't seen people having issues either... the aquamist stuff is reputed to be top of the line!
Maybe there's just something that Mike and the guys doing the install missed that they'll figure out this weekend and we can keep on with the WI plan.

On a kinda of related thought....
Is there some type of nozzle that fits a fuel injector hole? It would be cool to be able to use the secondary injector ports on the APS TGV deletes for WI....
or would it be better to inject further up the intake path?

As long as it atomizes properly that would probably work fine, however, there's significant added complexity to have to run the water to 4 injectors instead of one in the intercooler before the butterfly.
