It's been a while since I priced high end RC stuff, but if I recall correctly, you are looking at about $5-10K worth of hardware and probably a thousand man hours of construction time, and major heartbreak when it gets crashed, which eventually, it most likely will.

Having crashed many RC gliders, you'd be surprised how much stuff survives the wreck, especially radio/servo equipment.

Though, a glider doesn't go 200 mph and burn on impact like a jet does. :(
