I just had an idea...

Anyone interesed in having an Initial D meet? I got the whole series on DVD and I haven't watched it in a while... anyone interested in getting together some day and watching some of the 1st season, or the Initial D movie, or something?

For those who don't know... Initial D is an Anime about an 18 yr old kid who delivers Tofu in his dad's AE86 Trueno that gets into street racing on some mountain passes in Japan. It's all about modded cars and drifting and other Japanses style motorsport stuff. It's in Japanese and sub-titled, so bring reading glasses.. hehe.

I can prolly cram say 6 or 8 people in my apartment, and we got a 10' projector, so it'll be very "theater like".

Well, I'm assuming we're still on for next weekend to install those gauges, so that's out since we'll need the better part of Saturday for that, and while I've got the header off my car, I'm gonna try to fix my up-pipe leak (again) on Sunday.

I'm out of town the weekend of the 8th/9th. The 2nd is the Super Bowl... So, we can try to meet up on the 1st, or sometime in later Feb.

Would Feb 1st work for you guys? Otherwise, toss me a weekend that's good tor you and we'll see what we can do!

We won't have time to do the install and watch Initial D... I figured we'd get the gauges into your car on Saturday. Then I'd fart around w/ my exhaust leak on Sunday morning, or put it off until my Stage 1 parts show up. I should be done in time to watch the game that afternoon.

So this Saturday would still be good for me for the install. If next weekend is better, then we can do that, but that'll force Initial D to be on Sunday the 2nd, and I won't be able to work on my exhaust leak.

Okay, I've had some event shufling going on... so it looks like the 1st / 2nd are turning into install days... Arthur and I are installing gauges in his car on the 1st. And I've got an exhaust leak to fix on the 2nd.

So, the 1st/2nd are scrubbed for Initial D. We can try to do it this Saturday (Sorry Matt!) or sometime in later Feb.

Since Sat is so soon, I'm figuring Feb 15 might end up being more likely.

Okay, here's the tentative plan:

Sat, Feb 15th... Initial D meet day!

I've got all the episodes and both the movies. We can probably watch the whole 1st season, if we're hard core about it: 16 episodes = 8 hours. Or we can watch the Initial D movie. The movie's only 2 hours... since it takes place after the 1st two seasons, it recaps them at the start of the movie, but nothing that'll ruin the TV series if you plan to watch them later. And of course, we could just watch the first 3 or 4 hours of the TV series... (but the movie's better).

I figure we'll get some pizza delivered (bring a couple bucks), and I'll have moderate quantities of soda and beer on hand... if that's not your drink, come prepared.

Remember, the 15th is the day after Valentine's... so make sure you can use the "sorry honey, I have to go watch cartoons about Japanese street racing" line w/o getting divorced. Since my significant other is parked in the garage, I don't think she'll have a problem :lol:.

The LabMonkey will be in the house, so you can meet him... not that he's anything special.. but if you feed him beer, he stops throwing shit across the room.

Everyone's invited, but if everyone shows up, it'll be a little crowded. 'Course, how often can we get everyone together at once, right? (I'm sure this'll be the day... :lol: )

Awesome! If you can come to the Initial D day, you should bring 'em! Do you have the 2002 Season Review episode? That'd be cool to watch, since it covers all the 2002 highlights in an hour (or was it 2 hours?). It'd make the 2003 season more interesting to watch for the people that didn't follow last season.

So I'm thinking the viewing schedule should include: 2002 WRC highlights, 2003 Monte Carlo Rally X-tra, 2003 Sweden Rally X-tra, and Initial D the movie. That's about 6 hours of automotive entertainment... and I'm sure there's Daytona stuff to watch (like the Busch race) since the 500 is on the 16th.

The monkey is escaping for the weekend, so the Mrs will not be coming along. She's always down for hanging out with the guys, but I think this weekend of motorsports would be a little much even for her. Plus it's still February, so I don't know about the roads... I'll be bringing the Jeep.

No, Not the SUV.. its the 325XI/330XI 4Door sedan with all wheel drive navegational system among other goodies... They are nice looking but we have already owned a BMW.. I am not sure if anyone else plays the GT3 on PS2 but I just racked up over a million Dollars since I started playing it on Jan '03 .. so I purchased a couple of EVO's, a WRX, a Miata, and an "S" Class Viper which was a million bucks.. lol ... Oh yeahh I upgraded the Turbos, Intercooler, intake, suspension and wheels on the evo's and WRX which made them go from stock 280 HP to a whopping 470 HP EACH!!!! :twisted:
Ps: the stock "S" class VIPER has about 570HP.. I have upgraded the engine/tranny and other crucial components to make it 952 HP !!!!

You can get the WRX STi up over 500hp... muhahahahha!

I've beaten all the races in the games 'cept for some of the pro and endurance races... I stopped bying cars from the dealer, since you end up getting cooler stuff as prizes! Here's a hint... get a Zonda or something fast, then run the "Run Like the Wind" Pro race... if you can win, you'll get the AWD Tubrocharged Mazda 787B... prolly the best race car in the game IMO... that thing is FAST! And with it you can win just about any race it's allowed in.

I'm still looking for a F1 race car and the GT-40... then my GT3 collection will be complete!!

Oh yeah, you can win the '02 WRC Impreza if you can get all gold medals on the rally license tests... it's not to hard, till the last test where you have to run a full lap at Tahiti w/ an ungodly fast time... it prolly took me like 20 hours of trying before I finally beat it!

Total cost of the parts worked out to about $250, $100 of it was the IC spray computer, and $90 of it was the high volume pump I used. A fully manual system w/ a lesser pump would be significantly less... under $100 easy.

Wow... thats alot. I watched your video tho.. looks very effective. I been thinking about installing one for the FMIC. I dont think I would pay $100 tho (I'd rather get some cam gears or something :P)
