View Full Version : Anybody have a flat bed trailer for me to borrow?

I need one if anybody has one or would like to help me move a non-drivable Subie here in the very near future, I'd appreciate it. I'll have pictures of why I need one whenever I can get to Carson again. Or if Bobby has a camera and can take pictures...
Thanks!

Not so much as the outside world unwillingly came to my car.
Meh, I'll just tell you guys.
I was driving home Sunday night from my girlfriends house in Gardnerville. It was about 6-7pmish. I was coming into Washoe Valley from Carson on 395 doing about 60. If you guys remember, that day had some funky weather. At the time I was driving it was barely sprinkling, no snow anywhere, but the road was wet. Well I'm driving in the right lane, I wasn't braking, I wasn't turning, I wasn't accelerating and all of a sudden the rear of my car starts to slide out to the left. Immediately I thought "Uh wtf is going on?" Before I could think, the front end of my car slams into the right retaining wall, spins once and bounces against it again, then slides across the lanes and I hit the left retaining wall head on. I remember right before I hit everything slowed down it seemed like. I looked back up the road at the cars coming at me in my lanes. A bunch of thoughts went through my head. I thought "This is going to be bad. I hope those people don't T-bone me. I've never been in an accident where the airbags deployed..." And then BAM! My car hits, airbags deploy, and I get out of the car as quickly as possible.
It felt as if I were to pull the e-brake while driving. I can't explain it or figure out what happened for the life of me. Perhaps some black ice? I'm not so sure because I saw people swerve around me. But I'm ok, just a goose egg on the back of my head and some red mark on my chest.
But my camera is in my totalled car in my parents driveway in Carson, so no pictures yet.
Damn... Glad you are OK. Another testament to Subie safety.

Jonny man that really sucks! Glad you are ok! Are you still going to buy Tim's RS?

I need to show my parents how appreciative I am of their help. They are doing so much for me, I dunno what I'd do without them. They paid for the tow, plane tickets to Texas for Bobby and I, they are letting my poor car sit in their driveway because I have nowhere else to keep it.
Luckily I'll be picking up Tim's RS in 3 weeks =)
Oh yeah, nice sig Cory.

At least you only killed ONE Suby, instead of 2 like the douchnozzle who hit me last year in his mom's Outback. And getting a clean, unmolested RS out of the deal couldn't be amuch better resolution. :)

I'd help but my trailer is loaned out to a friend. Besides, how are you going to get it on to a trailer? You'll need a winch or something.

I dunno, if I can get a trailer, I'll worry about it. But I can't have my borked car sit in my parents driveway forever.
What are you going to do with it? You aren't going to try to fix it are you? No offense, but the junkyard will come pick it up for free.

Where do you want to take it? Tow companies don't charge much for local moves, especially if you tell them it can move whenever. It would be a lot easier and safer to load.

Offense? I want to get rid of this demon seed! As much as I did love it. Even tho every chance it got it fucked me. I didn't know they would pick it up for free... So I guess I'll just take off what I need in the street and then have them take it if they can. I'll have to give em a call.

Sweet Grenade sticker.
Eh, it's not that bad. You might be able to get something for it from someone who wants a track car. Probably gonna be more time and effort on your part than it's worth though. Hell I'd take it off your hands but my parents would KILL me if I tried to leave that at there house until I graduated. I'll ask them though. lol

Why don't you put it next door in a storage unit, the Galant was there for a while.

Yeah I'm not so sure anyone around here needs a track car. I might be able to get some interest if I post a classified on a bigger site, but most everybody would be far away. I suppose it couldn't hurt though.
Thanks everybody for the kind words.
I need to find out if a yard can pick it up, and if they need it, uh rollable. I hope not because I kinda want my struts and springs and I don't have the stock ones...

When my parents had a house they rented out, one of our tenants left like 3 cars in the backyard. My dad just called the junkyard and they came and got them. I'm pretty sure they didn't all roll.

Hahahahaaa..
I guess you don't remember my mom's sandwiched L that I was *trying* to part out in RS25. It's *still* in their driveway - they wouldn't let me touch it. I only got away with the locking gas flap and related bits... Thankfully, I didn't have to even break out the ratchet to get the rear seats out. :D
I got a nudge from one of my friends saying that our neighbor (who owns an autobody shop) was telling her who could tow it away and at what cost - asking her to pass it on to me so I could break it to my parents. :P

-As seen in the temporary "extra" parking space. I'll bet it's way more rusty and full of mice now.
I was pretty miffed that it was so bad back there that I couldn't pull out the truck release cable along with the gas flap's.. The entire latch assembly is curled under. =/

I have a question. I am trying to move my car into the street to work on a flat surface, but the car won't come out of park. I have power but I can't move the damn thing. Is there like a fuse somewhere that burns out when the airbags come out to prevent me from moving it? Imma go read my owner's manual some more.
There is an inhibitor switch (I think that's what it's called) that prevents the car from getting out of park. Yours might have gotten busted.
Yeah, but it makes less HP, and, more importantly, my car's louder..... :p

Indeed.
I stopped in after work one day and it was just there. I'd forgotten all about the damn thing (it had been months and months) and was thinking "WTF did Lonnie go and buy that sh*t for?!"
I saw it the day after the accident at the lot it was being held at... and then just plain forgot it even existed. Evidently, they got tired of it taking up space and they drove it 30 miles back to us to dump it. O.o
Or maybe the insurance company was trying to prompt my parents to follow through with something...
Unintentional hijack, Jonneh.
