I was playing HL2: Episode One not but twenty minutes ago.

I'm wondering how the machine will contain these blasts and the possible openings of a black hole? Also, what exactly will happen if a black hole opens? What kind of force draws things in to a black hole? Is it suction like puncturing a pressurized chamber or some odd reverse in gravity?

It's just good old fashioned gravity. It gets exponentially stronger as you get closer. I remember learning of a process called "spaghetification" which basically means objects get stretched out as they aproach the opening of a black hole.

Just stuck one of them there mini black holes in your exhaust manifold at the collector, and then cap it off. No cat, or muffler, etc. required.

You just have to swap out your black hole when it starts getting heavy. Just make sure it is centered and low, and it shouldn't effect handling much.

You might need an upgraded alternator to run the magnetic containment system though. :)

I suggest using the mini black holes as obstacles. That way, the ideal apex will slingshot you through to the next corner. Missing it wide costs you time, and clipping it off is more than a 2 second penalty...

You wanna get geeky... the reason Han and Chewie's Kessle run is impressive is not because they're fast (remember a parsec is a unit of distance, not time or speed), it's because they're such great smugglers they can run straight through the Emperial blockades thus avoiding taking the "long route" that all the crappier smugglers have to take to avoid the heat that the Falcon can either out-run, out-fight, or out-smart. :cool:

The contest comes from trying to shorten the distance of the run, which is normally measured at a safe 18 parsecs. For Solo to have taken it in 12 parsecs means that not only does he have a fast, durable ship that can come dangerously close to the Maw Cluster, but also balls made of durasteel. :lol:

Thats nice and all but did you know that Lucas stole the idea for the original three films from an old Samuri film called "The Hidden Fortress". Thats why 4,5, and 6 kicked ass, and 1,2, and 3 sucked.

I'd also like to point out that 6, while still good, was a huge step down from 5.

Elements such as the heroic youth, princess in distress, wise old man, cocky sidekick, fanciful powers, and toppling an evil overbearing empire were around long before The Hidden Fortress.

The movies draw heavily from folklore and traditional ideas of good vs. evil; that's one of the reasons people can connect with them so easily.
