I think Downward Spiral is the best cohesive album, but the songs on The Fragile are Trent's best work.
Anyone else?

I like Head like a Hole and Closer to God.

I second the Doinkus opinion.

I second the Doinkus opinion.
But you voted for The Fragile, whereas I voted for Spiral.
So, you think the quality of the songs on The Fragile makes the album better overall, even tho Spiral's songs work better together?
The way I see it, Downward Spiral tells a story... each song building on the one before... about a poor manic-depressive shmo that falls for a good-for-nothing chick that stomps on his heart which leads to his suicide.
he couldn't believe how easy it was
he put the gun into his face
bang!
(so much blood from such a tiny little hole)
problems have solutions
a lifetime of fucking things up fixed in one determined flash
everything's blue
in this world
the deepest shade of mushroom blue
all fuzzy
spilling out of my head
If the fragile is "about" anything, I can't figure it out... The songs are just cool.
Here's all of Spiral's lyrics... good and depressing... lol:

I voted for The Fragile, because it's my sentimental favorite I guess. Lol... NiN and sentimental don't really belong in the same sentence.
I read an essay on the meaning of The Downward Spiral that I thought was very interesting...
