View Full Version : Snow Shoveling
If you haven't done it, don't wait until the morning.
I just cleared about 2 inches of some of the heaviest snow ever out of my driveway, and it dropped another 1/4" or so during the hour it took to do so.

I can still see the cement on my driveway.
Looks pretty dry.
Plus I never shovel anyway, I drive over it.

It's nice out.
Only a bit more than 1,600 higher than Reno, and I'm loving the 'kooks.
It looks like I have about 6 inches in my driveway. I'm just going to drive over it.
I lost power about 30 minutes ago. Generators rule!
I really need to pick up a main switch over box so I don't have to run heavy gauge extension cords all over the house.
Any electricians out there?
Cable just went out though. Glad I have DSL.

Got 11-12" here in the NW. Sucks that I am having back problems, but at least we got our spa working again, that helps a ton :)

Wow, heavy snow, power outages ... are we living in the same town? I barely have a light sprinkle of snow at my place.

Looks like an inch or two in my driveway right now... I'm not gonna stress shoveling, as I've already driven over it twice now so there's already ice. But my driveway faces West, so it'll melt easy as soon as we get a clear day over 32 deg.

I saw the explosion that caused the power outage from my second bedroom.

We didn't get much at the house, but it was an interesting drive through Moundhouse earlier this evening.

That's classic! I hope they have a sloped roof, that much snow has got to be hard on a house!

I had the sierra cement in the driveway on Sunday morning. But since Monday morning, another 10" had accumulated by the time I got home (longest commute home ever). Last night, I shoveled half of the driveway & sidewalk, and by the time I was finished, there was another inch covering what I had already done. :(

Yeah I saw that too while I was driving. Thats the second time this year I have actually seen that happen. The other time was on Holcomb Ranch.

$$$$ C'mon Snow Donkeys!!!$$$$
It's not really too bad here at Nissan. Just about an inch of frozen crunchy crap. Just enough to make a Murano careen into a curb tho...
My cheap ass snow blower is exactly that. Give my 4" of light stuff, and it rocks. 1-2" of heavy stuff and it gets clogged in 5 seconds. Don't ever buy a single stage snow blower.... :( Worst "deal" I ever got.
4-5" total here, and no, DSL didn't go out, just went out and shoveled one more time before going to sleep. About 2+ more inches then, and maybe a 1/4-1/2" this AM.
Debbie, you have at least one teenage child living at home. Why the heck are you shoveling? :) I thought that was the reason for having children, so they can do chores you don't want to once they are old enough.
Man shoveling my huge driveway is exercise though...
Had to dig the Ford out as I have an appointment to get some recall work done this AM.

How the hell can there be a recall on a vehicle that old?
How the hell can there be a recall on a vehicle that old? :lol:It's a '94 and it is an electrical problem with the cruise control module. Probably one of those catch on fire recalls. I keep forgetting about it.

The drive to work was fun this morning.
THANKS BOBO, for puttin on my wheels for me. Looks like we got those bitches on *literally* just in time.
As for shoveling, fuck that. I'm the only one of my roommates to ever shovel so they can suck it. Oh and I can't do it anyway cuz my drunken idiot self dislocated my shoulder on Friday (again).

You guys suck... I'm at 5000 ft, and only had a whopping 3-4" this morning to shovel... took me all of 10 minutes... and since it's clear, I really probably didn't even have to do it, but I wanted to make sure the ice tire-tracks under the snow get melted today since the skies are clear.

I shoveled the 10" off my car and stuff this morning, and drove away leaving the long driveway for my wife to deal with.
*Actually, our paraplegic ranch owner neighbor usually busts out the Honda Quad and blades our place.....one cool dude

I'm not sure what's funnier... you leaving 10" of snow on the driveway for your wife or your paraplegic neighbor to deal with.
