Sweet. I'll be sweating bullets vicariously from indoors as I take my RN boards in air conditioned hell. Probably will hit me like a Mack truck when I walk out of there at about 1 or 2.

Need tint and a sunshade pronto.

Swamp Cooler FTW... Been keeping the place under 80 no problem for cheap.

I'd really like one of the 2 stage ones. (http://www.oasysairconditioner.com/techinfo.html)

weather.com is saying 105 for Thursday, but 108 for Hawthorne. How would you like to autox in that temperature?

They seem to change their prediction every few hours. Now they are saying 108:

You say that from lack of experience... Phx is a dry heat compared to, let's say Orlando, but the humidity there is FAR greater than it is here, I assure you!

I've been far more miserable in 80F/95% humidity in Iowa, than playing baseball in 99F/10% humidity in San Ramon. Not only are you too hot, you're also sweaty but it doesn't do anything... it just saps the life right out of you.

Sorry, I forgot to parse my exaggeration and bullshitting tags. :p But Scott and Austin are right. Humidity sucks way more than actual heat.

Oh, and I whole-heartedly agree! I grew up here, so the slightly higher humidity in PHX made it HORRIBLE for me! I've been to Orlando in June before tho, and I contemplated slitting my wrists at one point...

I've been to Charleston SC, Hunstville AL, Springfield MA, in the dead of summer and none of them matched the awful humidity of Iowa City, IA. We tried to play an ultimate frisbee match... it was too hot to finish... and it was only 70F something out... but with the humidity it felt like 120F. I've never felt so completely deflated by the heat. Yuck.

Spending my summers in central Tennessee when I was a kid taught me to fear and respect the triple digit heat combined with 90%+ humidity. I <3 Nevada.

It takes some getting used to. On high humidity days doing anything outdoors beyond a slow walk means you're drenched in sweat within a minute or two. You just have to take care of all your outdoor stuff at once or take several showers per day.

And A/C is a blessing straight from the gods. I never truly appreciated it until I moved here.

I was in Iowa visting families during some summer floods way back I think 1997/8 and the humidity was amazing, I had to mow my grandmas lawn which was patch of grass like 5 x 10 feet and almost died.:(

I also lived in Arkansas for 5 years while I didn't get all used to the humidity totally it did toughen me up a bit.

I just heard the forecast is up to 109...

"Hey, can you tell me what's your name? "My name is Roosevelt E. Roosevelt." Roosevelt, what town are you stationed in? "I'm stationed in Poontang." Well, thank you, Roosevelt. What's the weather like out there? "It's hot! Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest thing is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking." Well, tell me what it feels like. "Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's damn hot! It's so damn hot, I saw these little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?" What do you think it's going to be like tonight? "It's gonna be hot and wet! That's nice if you're with a lady, but ain't no good if you're in the jungle!" Thank you, Roosevelt."
