Evan has also replaced his CV stuff. I watched most of it and has some pics of his install. But he is useless since he is in Mormonville.

I'm pretty sure the problem is the inboard CV joint on the left front axle. The grease is probably leaking from the CV along the axle into the diff and then back out that differential side retainer once it gets to the oil seal. I don't think there's anything wrong with the tranny or diff. That's not tranny oil... mine's blue.
I'm currently still in "negotiations" with Michael Hohl and Subaru of America about getting it done under warranty... I think I'll be able to work something out... just not sure if it'll be done in time for the Lovelock trip.

Do it your self if its the inside one your lucky thats easy if it was the out side boot you would stil have to pull the inside one. Basicly your allready half way there you could do it in a few hours all you half to do is pull the axle and get a new boot use subaru brand boot its not all that hard make sure you use CV Boot grease I know you can do it Scott.

Unfortuantely the problem's not the boot... it's the CV joint and/or the seal between the axle and the diff. So I'll need to replace the CV, as well as the boot... it will actually be a lot easier to simply replace the whole axle.
Hopefully this will all simply get sorted out with the dealer.
