Checked it out last night. Everything is 10-40% off. Laptops and TV's are 10% off and most everything else is 20% off...I forget what was 40% off...laptop bags and some other crap.

I picked up a Maxtor 500GB external HDD for $135.99 and Mortal Kombat: Armagedon (PS2) for $15.99 (including a 20% discount but before tax).

I'd say the store's about half empty. Deals should get better as they liquidate further. They had lots of networking gear, printers and printer supplies, all 20% off.

My boss' wife went and checked out things there yesterday afternoon, didn't find much worth bothering with.

Oh, and from newegg last month I got 2 500g Samsung HDDs and external cases for $126 each, shipped. Monitors that we specifically checked at CompUSA were still more expensive than NewEgg even on sale. Disappointing. :(

...but not surprising. CompUSA has always been a rip unless you find some Deanerific online deal. :P

I did almost grab a 24 port switch that was under $100 w/ discount IIRC, but it wouldn't really be right for us. I'd really like another 36 port switch for backup at work.

I think its kind of a joke. They have been at 10-40% off for like a month now. By the time they bump it so 60-70% off there wont be much worth buying. IMO

That's pretty good. I think I paid $220 for our 24 port switch. 10/100/1000?

When Good Guys closed it was the same story. People that don't normally shop online think everything is a great deal when it's 20% off, not realizing that it's still cheaper online. They buy up all the good stuff and by the time the really big discounts kick in there's nothing left but crap.

I was hoping our store would be one of the few that would remain open, that is if tigerdirect would run it like thier online store.
