I can loan a gutted Stromung cat if needed. I'm throwing a constant P0420 with stock header/cat so I want to see if the problem is actually the cat before I replace it.

I have my stock one on my car, wanna trade for a couple days? I've been looking into straight pipe/hfc options anyway. Well not so much HFC's.

Looks like I found a loose catpipe, but I'll loan you my Stromung pipe for a bit if you want.

Have any ideas about how much a shop would run me to make me one?

You typically need an "in" at an exhaust shop to have a cat delete pipe made, what with it being illegal to remove the cats and all...

Either that or show up with a caged car on a trailer.

I dunno, I bet a shop wouldn't need that much proof. If you have them make a flanged delete, as well as flange your existing cat, so you can swap them easily for off-road race use and street use, I bet they'd do it for you.
But you'd be paying them like 5 times as much for all the flanges they'd have to make.

Since everyone's already discussing cats, what would the noise increase be like going from borla header/stock cat/stromung catback, to borla header/stromung hfc/stromung catback?

Minimal difference.
