View Full Version : Recommend a Welder
I'm interested in having a hole in my passenger side exhaust manifold welded shut. Can anyone recommend a welder or exhaust shop to do a good job?

My buddy said he could weld it for you in his garage. It sounded like for free too
How experienced is he welding at cast iron? This needs to be done right the first time or I'm fucked. I'm thinking I'd better just tap it a size bigger and plug it with a bolt.

I'd do it for you but I am out of town until the end of the week.

It's a stripped hole. Is welding it going to be safer than plugging it?

He said he's never done it before. Sorry. He said he could read up on it and learn how to do it, but I doubt you want to be his first guinea pig. He also said he's patched a million holes, and welding is welding.
Thanks to you and your friend, Rob. I'm going to plug it though. TWSS?

Did you get your bung hole plugged cody? :D
Nah. When we have the SECCS welding party (you know, where everyone comes but I'm the only one who ends up needing the welder) we can pull out the plug that's probably leaking and weld it shut.

Haha as long as there's burgers, I'm in for that one too! Lol
And there was just too many possibilities with welding the bung hole shut, I just let it go
