I'm a thinking about hooking up either an existing Razr V3 that was with Edge Wireless a while ago (need the unlock code from them or did they get bought by ATT?) or getting a new phone with MP3 capability. Let me know what my options are, please.

I would, but I'm not willing to pay the $30/mo for the data plan. I just wish that the Boost Mobile unlimited plan for $50/month actually had good phones and good service...

Do it. I'm always on my phone. Hell, I'm posting from it right now while waiting for Cory to mount my tires ;)

the map saves my life on every road trip I go on.

Motorola ROKR E8 is a pretty cool GSM phone/media player. Standard 1/8" headphone jack!!!! bluetooth stereo support as well. 2GB on-board and micro SDHC compatible, so 8GB and more cards are OK. And it is a Linux based phone, so completely hackable!!! 2MP camera as well. Sync to outlook, etc... via USB/bluetooth.

I have one and like it a lot, you are welcome to check it out. I admit to only using the media player when I don't have an iPod with me, but the dynamic controls are cool.

Java also kicks ass on it!

You know my thoughts on another GSM carrier. ;)

This.

Are you able to do the iPhone 3G-S? I may be in the market for a pair of them on some sort of a family plan, depending on how much it's going to cost me upfront and long term.

Sorry not the I-phone. That one is exclusive for AT&T store only.

That sucks. I'm much rather deal w/ a friend that have to screw around w/ the AT&T or Apple stores.

I just got a 3G-S at best buy in Carson. I was in and out in 5-10 min tops. Absolutely no hassle. Might have helped that I was just going from 1 iPhone to a newer one, so I didn't have to deal with changing the plan, but the guy was really helpful. Also, they offer a protection plan for $15 a month that covers anything except submerging it in water. Its covered even if the damage is your fault.

I'd rather eat glass than spend my money at Best Buy.

Then deal with poor customer service at other places ;)

$15 a month seems high for a protection plan.

Better than $600 for a new phone. I figure I'll just break the screen after a couple months to make it worth it
