Replacing sound deadening and staying legal.

Months ago I began an interior swap (tan for grey) and when I pulled the carpet I found that the original sound deadening had completely lifted and was broken in to chunks, so I just tossed it. Now that I'm modding toward SP to save money and my sanity I realize the sound deadening has to be replaced. What advice can you, the experienced auto-crossers, give me so I can become legal?

One slight detail I left out, I didn't weigh it but others have so I know about how much I need to put back in weight wise.

I have a bunch of Dynamat Extreme in my front doors...but my front speakers rattle when it's cold. Yah, I'm no help.

I would just get some 3/8" carpet padding and cut some sheets to replace the parts you tossed out. On the other hand, you're talking about 3 ounces of sound deadening that's beneath your carpet. :lol: Even the most jaded and cynical national level autocrosser isn't go to go digging for that sort of thing,

I'm talking about the tar stuff that usually requires dried ice and a hammer to remove...

Oh. In that case, just get a can of the sound deadening/undercoating from NAPA or Kragen or whatever got to town. The non-spray stuff I mean.

Kevin, I was thinking the same thing but I'm always unsure about the level of scrutiny when it comes to modifications and autox rules.
