2nd Gear Noise

And yet another noise is cropping up.

I hear a growling type noise, not to loud though, when in second gear. It is heard when I am driving slowly and approaching 2000 rpm and lower, like when in a parking lot etc. This can't be normal or am I just anal?

I hate to have to take this thing in for servicing; I'd rather drive it!

Well a while ago when Scoot rode in my car I had all these newbie subaru questions for him. I thought my car was quite loud in second gear when rolling to a stop and low rpm movement. He told me that's what AWD sounds like. But I think you mean some other noise right? Because didn't you have a subaru before you bought the WRX?

Yes I did have another Subaru AWD. It didn't make these sounds. This is definitely different.

Well, I've noticed the WRX has a really loud clutch. Especially in the cold. My car sounds very loud driving around in 2nd, but I've also got shifter bushings that transmit the noise into the cabin.
