Man, this is the worst uptime I've ever seen for a website, its down at least 30% of the time!!
Ohh is that what THAT is ...
You mean UP 30% of the time?

Bingo....
I've bitched a bunch, and they moved me from the Plesk servers to the CPanel servers (which are supposed to be better somehow?), but they still keep going down.
I *hate* VHosting with a passion. Shit's always going down because there's too many admins screwing around, too many accounts, not enough servers.... plus we're buying space from some guy that bought 10 accounts, from some guy that bought 100 accounts from some guy that knows some dude that runs the server in Tunisia. If only co-locations weren't so goddamn expensive.

It's been rough lately, but I think we'll be looking elsewhere ASAP.

The hardware's not a problem, I've got enought spare computer parts in my closet that I could build us a server w/ 60GB of space, and all the horsepower we'd need for a long time... I just don't have somewhere fast enough to plug it into the internet. The best I can do is toss it on my Cable Modem, which has such shitty upstream bandwidth, that one person on the site would kill it all, and then some.

Yeah, anything fast enough to be truely useful would be at least $1000/mo.
