For those that haven't noticed, the frontpage news section is back up and running, as well as the gallery. Feel free to check out some of the new pictures in there from recent race events.
Also, meets have recently been moved to Tamarack Junction Casino & Restaurant on S. Virgina. We're meeting at 7pm in the back parking lot, then eating in the sports bar area. See the Current Meet thread for more info and directions.

Things will be up and down and all around for a bit. Hopefully everything will be up and running sometime this evening.

Yep, the forums are down...

It looks like we got hacked today, and the forum is currently down.
I'll take a look at it as soon as I can, which will probably be tonight after the SCCA meeting.
Hopefully, no major damage is done to the database, since I haven't backed it up this month.
I will try to keep everyone updated on this page.

It's been almost 2 years...
|
(

|
|
...since SECCS was founded, this November will be our 2nd birthday!
Over the last 2 years, the club has come a long way. Our membership has grown by leaps and bounds, and we've gained many great friends! Our club's participation in SCCA Autocross has resulted in National Recognition by both SCCA and Subaru of America! We've sucessfully put on a wonderful track event, that even the track regulars gave high praises!
Thank you to all the members that make this club what it has become! I can't wait to see what the next two years bring us!

SECCS Track Day / Driving School: August 29th!
|
(
Fri, May 7th 2004, 4:17 PM
)
|
|
SECCS will be putting on it's first track event at the newly expanded Reno-Fernley Raceway road course Sunday, August 29th! This event is open to all drivers, as we will have instruction provided by The Next Level Driving School ... a Subaru is *not* required.
Specific classes, as well as pricing to be announced, however I am expecting Novice, Advanced and No-Instruction (track time only, no classroom) groups to be available, with each group getting 4 or 5 20-30 minute track sessions, for a price under $200/driver.
We will also attempt to reserve a block of hotel rooms in Reno or Fernely if there are enough people coming in from out of town Saturday.
Our goal is to have at least 30 participants so we will be able to take over the track for the whole day!
For more information, or to sign up check in the Official Track Day Thread!

Note to site visitors

After an unfortunate situation with the police this past Thursday, I'd just like to reiterate our club's purpose to non-members that may be visiting this site.
We are not a "street racing crew". We are a not-for-profit organization made up of Subaru Enthusiasts. In fact we specifically endorse keeping the racing off the streets and on the race track, even to the point where we help organize legal race events and track days.
Many SECCS members are also members of the SCCA, the largest auto club in the US. We use SECCS as a means to attach a social aspect to our SCCA membership, creating weekly "fun" meets, and providing a friendly support program for new racers looking to get into the sport of Autocross. The club's average age is around 28 years old. And while we'll accept young members, we don't tolerate hot-headed punks that like that do stupid stuff with their cars. Our goal is to be an intellectual meeting place for open-minded individuals that are interested in learning more about Subarus and legal racing, as well as a place for enthusiasts to meet like-minded people.
Please do not confuse us with a "street racing crew". If you're at this site looking for that sort of thing, look elsewhere.

Don't forget, Reno SCCA starts the autocross season April 17th with it's Test-n-Tune event at Stead Airport! Followed by the 1st points event the next day at the same location.
Also, if you're looking for that edge before the season starts, follow SECCS down to Sacramento this Saturday for the S-Squared BBQ and Dyno Day! $60 pulls on the dyno and free grub, thanks to the guys at S-Squared!

Reno SCCA wins a WRX!
|
(
Fri, Feb 13th 2004, 12:13 PM
)
|
|
Led by SECCS, the Reno SCCA Region won the use of an '04 WRX for it's outstanding SCCA membership renewal rate in the WRX Incentive program!
The car will likely be used as a pace car for Solo I and the Solo II Divisionals hosted by the Reno Region.
Congrats SECCS!

Finally! Our Dedicated Server is up!
|
(
Mon, Feb 2nd 2004, 3:28 AM
)
|
|
After bouncing around to several different servers over the last few months, we finally have our own dedicated server!
While the hardware's not much to write home about, it should be more than adequate for our purposes. And with 40GB of space, and 500GB/mo of bandwidth, we should be able to handle a bit of growth over the next year.
Please report any issues you come across, as the move probably upset the site a bit.

New Server!
|
(
Sat, Nov 15th 2003, 2:36 PM

|
|
Well the site's up and running on our new server! We seem to be having some occational downtime... it's out of my hands :(
I also got the old news and gallery code up and running. Newer versions forthcoming!
Content migration is ongoing. I'm attempting to prune out a lot of the stuff we don't need to keep disk space usage down, so if something's missing that you'd like back up, let me know!
