Using the basic Stock, and SP and ST rules theory: Unless it specifically says you can, you can't... Our T class rules do not allow for ST prepared cars to run under there SP class on Street Tires...

So if he wants to run on street tires in DSP at .829, he is welcome to. But STX at .804 is better... :P

All street legal classes will be eligible for Street Tire (including Stock, Street Prepared, SM/SM2, and SU).
Since an STX car that shows up and slaps *SP on the side as its class is SP legal, the street tire rule applies. Is it a stretch? Maybe. But it's legal.

All I know is that I've got a set of stock '02 WRX brakes (both front and rear) sitting in my garage I'm willing to sell if one of you RS fellas wants to upgrade.

bruspeed 2006-04-05 10:35 AM

But, since I would be running under the STX guise, would that mean I would run ESP with all the other WRX's?

And Sperry, don't sell the rear ones, if this works, I'll take 'em.

Are WRX rear brakes different from RS rear brakes?

Kevin M 2006-04-05 10:36 AM

The rears are the same, but the fronts are a good bang-for-the-buck upgrade for peeps not running Stock or SP.

No, cars aren't classed specifically in ST, only excluded. You'd still be DSP.

Ah, but it isn't a stretch, it is clearly not allowed.

An ST car running in SP under the SP rule allowing it to do so does not make it a SP car, it is still an ST prepared car, and ST cars are not in the list of eligible T classes, and therefore... [A WITCH....] not allowed.

In general, Solo rules are not transative... I can do up a Ven diagram if it would help. :)

Nice try though.

And I doubt a T rule change allowing it is not in the making. I know I would be against it. Imagine the verbage you would have to write related to PAXing ST cars...

The SP rule is specificaly to allow ST prepared cars a place to run on race tires, and nothing else.

Kevin M 2006-04-05 10:43 AM

Well, that sucks for Chris. I tried. :(

Seriously, the whole picture in the sig thing doesn't go well here... especially when it's this big ass thing:

You've already got an avatar, and a place to put your car number and class, in your profile. Ditch the sig images.

NevadaSTi 2006-04-06 03:22 PM

I put it there to get some opinions. Obviously I got them, albite they are negative.

Kevin M 2006-04-06 03:26 PM

Linking or attaching one image is perfectly fine. Adding them to our sig is a no-no, it clutters up the board. Ever been to clubSi, ClubRSX, or clubWRX?

 Ricer!

cody 2006-04-06 03:46 PM

I seem to remember a certain blue RS with home painted white wheels (rust coming through and all) that definately belonged to a certain ricer. :P

Kevin M 2006-04-06 03:55 PM

Ouch, burn. :(

cody 2006-04-06 04:03 PM

Sorry, hope I didn't cut you too deep.

Kevin M 2006-04-06 05:16 PM

Heh, the intent was not rice, it was the execution. :p The day after I did that, they looked pretty sweet. But bad prep + massive brake dust on porous paint = teh uglay.

NevadaSTi 2006-04-07 07:38 AM

Never been to any of those sites.
