Good news! There won't be any of that annoying overtaking at the new Austin track:

Overtaking is for chumps with no pit strategy.
|
I'm not even the least bit surprised. In fact, I would have been surprised if a new F1 track was built without Tilke behind it in some manner.

Here is a picture of Alonso's wheel from the finish in Turkey.
http://twitpic.com/1t1y4m Apparently he drove the last 4 laps with the wheel like that, being real careful not to load it up and make it slip the bead. |

Yeah, it was the contact with Petrov.

That picture is embarrasing and douchey
|
Red Bull just lost a point in my book.
|
I like it. It reinforces the image Red Bull cultivates of being a bunch of idiots who run race teams, and just happen to be extremely competitive in the series.

Rim looks okay to me ...... :P

Not official yet, but Adam Cooper is always on. Bruno Senna will be replaced by Sakon Yamamoto at the British GP this weekend. |
Oh damn, now I have to go and change my picks in FF1!
At least Sakon has experience being a rolling chicane. |

The real question is... did Senna lose his seat entirely? Otherwise, what's the reason for missing just one race? Is Yamamoto buying the seat for a weekend? |
I just read on the official Formula 1 site that the reason is unspecified, but HRT will release a statement tomorrow morning.
To me its sounding like he lost his seat permanently. Senna wasn't paying for his drive (nor was he getting paid) and it sounds like HRT is in some financial trouble, so maybe they were forced to go with a driver that could buy a seat. |

The press release is saying that Yamamoto is only in for this race and Senna will be back for the rest of the season. |

I guess the lack of testing means a backmarker team has to pull nonsense like this just to get their backup drivers some seat time? |
More musical chairs at HRT:
http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/2...ok-in-germany/ It sounds like Yamamoto must be bringing cash to the table to get them to screw around with their drivers like this. |
Ferrari is busted for "team orders". Spoilers below...
http://www.formula1.com/news/headlin...0/7/11071.html While I felt for Massa, I actually think the FIA keeps getting this wrong. Teams are teams and should be allowed to make decisions for the betterment of the team, even at the expense of one of their drivers. I'm a huge Massa fan, and I think he deserved to win that race... but realistically, if he doesn't want Alonso as the preferred driver, he just needs to drive faster and get ahead of him in the championship right from race 1. And that's especially true at Ferrari where the team is always more important than the driver(s). Ferrari either has a publicly stated #1 driver, or they treat whoever is in the championship lead as the #1 driver. They may be ruthless about it, but you can't say they're not consistent or that they play favorites. |
Holy unnecessary blocking for 10th place, Schumacher!

That move was lame...Schumi is losing respect from fans and peers race-by-race.
