Haha, that's funny. I saw a flat black late 90's Impreza L wagon today. Looked good.

What breakin method are you using?

Drive it like you stole it on wastegate boost after warm up. Lots of hard acceleration and hard vacuum for the first 100mi across the RPM range.

We compared my pistons with Nick's who did a tame break-in and the difference in ring seal was substantial! We both had over 2500 miles, but mine were in much better shape.

Mine that were broken in hard had very little discoloration below the first ring and nothing below the second. Nick's had substantially more below both rings. We could probably take some pics if they are still sitting in the box beside Cory's tool box.

More or less what this page says

Changed the oil/filter at 100mi and will do so again at 1000mi.

cody 2011-10-02 04:06 PM

Cool. I'd do the same thing.

Kevin M 2011-10-02 06:14 PM

That more or less describes my break-in procedures too.

Were those mine? I tried to break my car it gently after the rebuild and I had oil consumption problems. So this time I beat on it and it's still been pulling a little down but not like before.

Is that the new Forza I saw advertised last night? It made me want to buy a 360 just for that one game. I was confused that they claimed they were showing real game play and then it was just a bunch of shots of stationary cars though.

It's real gameplay: the part of the game where you look at the cars in the showroom. :unamused:

That said, the actual driving footage looks pretty decent too. FM4 will probably keep me from having to buy a PS3 to play GT5... though I'm not happy about having to use that shitty MS racing wheel instead of my G27 because friggen Microsoft and Logitech can't come to a licensing agreement.

I hear ya. Similarly, I just bought a good knock-off usb xbox 360 controller for $11 for PC gaming. There's no good way to use PS3 controllers with PC gaming. Motionjoy makes it possible, but the analogue controls perform terribly.

Nope, we were standing in front of the shop door, and that som-bitch just cruised down Greg st. It was absolutely stunning. Gorgeous car.

Bob Danger 2011-10-03 05:34 PM

If Cory had not seen it as well I wouldn't have believed it myself.

Dean 2011-10-07 09:57 AM

I think I saw IheartSTI in his great looking Sedona Red Bugeye Sport wagon at the corner of 395 and mt. Rose highway right before the meet last night. he was southbound, turning left toward the Virginia foothills as I came off Mt. Rose heading north to the meet.

Why he wasn't going to the meet when he was 2 blocks away I don't know. :P

He custom painted it. Not sure if that one is also an STI swap.

GusGus91 2011-10-08 04:01 PM

No, that's not not IheartSTI.

I keep seeing a blue 2006 (?) Legacy in the Lawlor parking garage at UNR. Has a harmin motive plate surround, invidia exhaust, black wheels, etc... looks really nice. Anyone on here?
