So what time do we need to be at the track in the AM on saturday?? I looked on the renoscca site and I get the email but it says nothing about the time just dates and run groups.
Thanks

Definitely a good time. It was nice to meet you as well. Thanks for the ride along, your wagon is sweet!

Congrats to Cory, Debbie (also thanks for the ride along) and Matt R on the nice PAX finishes.

k-dogg39 2009-07-13 09:51 AM

Oh and I don't think there actually was an STU car. I think that was Vic and Renee running for no points in the afternoon in the honda.

Might want to mention that over on SCCA Forums so they fix it...

Ya, I sent Jason a PM a little bit ago. :D

Download G-spot. It will tell you everything about the codecs. it is probably something mediaplayer can play, but WMM can't reencode or needs a direct show filter for.

Drop both the original and WMM output onto it and cut and paste the audio info.

Nice run BTW. Looks like you need to aim the camera down to get more dark ground in the frame so it opens up the aperture a little unless you can tell it to overexpose the sky...

Who else was in BSP?

MattR 2009-08-22 04:49 PM

Only Jerry and I in BSP today, no yellow vette. It was a good run. I think I'll aim it down a bit more tomorrow.

Thanks Dean, I'll try that.

Here's video from today...still working on editing so I can brighten it up, but there was no light today, very dark and raining. Of course, the rain stopped after the 1st run group, so we'll see how that works out.

Here is Saturdays run in the dry:

Here is video of sunday in the rain:

ya, wish I would have gotten a better first or second run. After that rain came the course got pretty slick.

MPREZIV 2009-08-24 07:10 AM

Got down to a 59.7xx Sunday afternoon. Course was definitely faster once it dried and warmed up a bit.

And Kevin M, if you're reading this, I dunno why you can't get your car to rotate, 'cause I damn near spun it on Saturday morning! :D Left Foot Braking is your friend...

Kevin M 2009-08-24 03:54 PM

Duly noted. Now the question is, can I keep your car pointed in the right direction at full speed? ;)

MPREZIV 2009-08-25 06:33 AM

Yeah, my car's definitely "looser" overall, but yours is WAY easier to drive because of that. With a little LFB input to a: take weight off of the rear end on turn in so it can rotate, and b: keep the drivetrain loaded as you put the throttle back on, it really gets around the corners well, and comes out like a bullet!

I was trail braking through a top-of-second-gear left hander, and it just whipped around on me hard! I think I didn't need the brake input where I was, which caused it to break loose, but it was my second lap and I was still feeling it out. I managed to hold onto it, but only after a four turn death wobble... :D

I wouldn't mess with the car's setup. Just the Kevin's setup. ;)

Dean 2009-08-25 07:04 AM

Loose is fast.

Not having driven either car, I am guessing, but it sounds like Cory's car is a little more rear biased like mine so you have to have your foot on the gas and drive line engaged when cornering and Kevin's is still a bit more neutral or front biased and needs a kick to rotate.

Left foot braking is a double edged sword. While it keeps the diffs engaged, it can also induce understeer and/or oversteer depending on conditions and brake configuration. Often it is best used before turn initiation to drop speed instead of a lift and shift weight forward. It also doesn't work unless you are good at it! Practice a ton on the street. practicing at autocross or on the track is often detrimental to times.

If you entered a corner near the right speed, throttle steering is often much more effective mid corner as long as you don't do a big lift and unlock everything, unless that is needed. ;)

Exactly. Mine requires you to keep if from over-rotating, and Kevin's requires you to make it rotate, but both are very easy to accomplish with the correct LFB input. I say Kevin's car is way easier to drive fast, with my driving style. My car requires a lot of fast inputs and you're "on the edge" all the time to drive it fast. Kevin's car is much smoother to me, and the driver is not on the edge of Epic Fail nearly as often.

MattR 2009-08-26 05:17 PM

Damn! Karts! I pulled out the top car pax on saturday (4th), but those karts are fast... Sunday I was screwed by rain but still managed a top 10 ( the beauty of AWD) .

Cory, shit, you had another great weekend...in both cars. I think you're well on your way to a top 10 overall this season...

And Kevin W, Silvio and Chris, damn you guys had a close battle in SM this weekend...Wow!

Kevin M 2009-08-26 06:11 PM

Cory, which day did you drive which car? I am hoping like hell you drove yours on Sunday.

Haha:lol: Yeah, he drove Whitey on Saturday and His own on Sunday...

Kevin M 2009-08-26 07:44 PM

Thank God. I'd have to tuck tail and go to SM otherwise!
