Steve I feel for ya, Just wanted to tell you again that the most important thing is that you're alright. If you want help with the rear suspension dont hesitate to ask, assuming I'm free I'll come to help ya. You know I'm going to throw out the legacy as the kind of car to buy :). What I can do is ask at work if we have anything in that price range. Apparently I can get family/friends a discount on cars or something (plus I get 50 bucks if you buy something :D).
