Autocross is for ricers. Real men race where you can kill innocent people. I might just have to come to one to whoop your bugeye ass. Is there one coming up? We need a rally-x...

I have never denied being a ricer! Next local one isn't till October, and I don't think I'm dedicated enough to drive to Lovelock or Hawthorne or wherever the September one is. And rally cross would be the shit, though I would tear up my rice body kit.

We can just go to the desert and set up some cones. It'll be fun and more importantly free.

khail19 2004-08-25 09:14 PM

True, that would be cool. Holy thread hijack, Batman!

dknv 2004-08-25 09:23 PM

I have some pink cones we could use. Not enough tho. :(

btw, whatever happened to the rallyx research this season?

JC 2004-08-25 10:06 PM

We only need a couple cones, we'll manage.

khail19 2004-08-25 10:25 PM

Yeah, we'll just do figure 8s around the two cones. Put them about an 1/8 of a mile apart.

JC 2004-08-25 10:27 PM

Sounds good to me.

Regarding the RallyX... Matt and I had enough to keep us busy with SECCS, Solo2, Solo1, Track Days, jobs, and our tiny social lives that we couldn't find enough time to plan RallyX.

We got as far as initial talks w/ Rich out at RFR about using his old motocross/quad course. He said he'd be willing to grade it (removing the jumps) and then we'd have to get people out there to pick the rocks out of the track.

It would have been a *ton* of work to prep the course... plus it'd be expensive to run out there, since we'd have to pay for the site, and a water truck. Not to mention... neither Matt nor I have a clue about running a RallyX... nor do either of us have a car that we'd be willing to run.

So we just sorta stopped planning. If anyone's interested in taking up the cause, let me or Matt know, and we'll put you in touch with the contacts we've made (Rich, some of the Oregon Rally folks).

dknv 2004-08-26 09:46 AM

Thanks Scott. Yeah, I just couldn't remember where it ended. And, you guys did not make it up to Oregon to observe, right?

JC 2004-08-26 03:15 PM

Matt's car can run a rally-x just not your bucket.

Alright... this thread's soo OT, now I'm gonna have to go and split it into like 3 new threads.

I know SECCS is notorious for thread-jacking... but this is supposed to be "technical" discussion.
