He's gonna WANT to be in one by then, but we all know how Dean shops for cars. :P No $23k STis will show up before April.

Kevin M 2004-11-30 12:58 PM

Oh yeah- Legacy and Forester turbos are H Stock, unless the link I checked is out of date. :P Anybody want to make the leap?

I know they're ugly, but I think Debbie needs a blue Forrester 2.5XT.

And the rumor mill says that John Evans will be in H-Stock in something new... but that's uber-rumor... like 30th hand information. Debbie, you should pnmy up and go after him (and Andrew)!

Kevin M 2004-11-30 01:51 PM

Agreed. Is John thinking Cooper S Works? He'll probably kick our asses in it, and complain about FWD the whole time.

Debbie, go with the XT! Be a trailblazer! (p.s.- John's Konis and Kodiaks will fit.)

this thread rules. :D

Cooper S is DS... Work's is like AS or something insane!

Rumor mill + John Evans =

But I don't know that I believe it.

Kevin M 2004-11-30 01:55 PM

The Minis weren't moved out of G Stock, just like the STis weren't moved out of ESP. Coopers and Cooper S are in the same class! How retarded is that?

Kevin M 2004-11-30 01:55 PM

And if he buys a damn lancer, how'm I ever gonna be able to brag about beating him again?

I could have sworn I saw a blurb about moving the Cooper S to DS w/ the WRX and leaving the non-S in GS.... I guess that was just the proposal and not the real info?

/me knows he's in SM already so he ignores the rest of the classes.

Oh, and that's just as retarded as the C5 and Z06 both being in SS... along with the new C6 I assume.

There was a proposal to move Cooper S to D Stock, where it belongs, and the STi out of ESP into A Stock, where it doesn't belong. Neither one passed though.

Blue?! I was almost believing blue may be an unlucky color for me. Maybe its just unlucky in 2004 though.

Street Modified inherits all allowances from Street Touring and Street Prepared.

Is that statment not true then? and is boost limited in ESP?

Street Mod has a specific requirement for a catalytic converter. Boost is limited in ESP.

SP allows any brake lines, but all else must be stock size. Slotted/drilled rotors OK, but no 2-piece unless it came with them.

You just never know what I might show up in. I'm thinking if we have lots of Corvette courses, maybe a DeLorean in SM so I can get up to 88MPH and finish before I start. May be the only way to catch Eric in the damn Kart.

dknv 2004-11-30 07:18 PM

STi, you know you want to ....

tysonK 2004-11-30 08:25 PM

.802

fuck that.

bastards.

qksubi 2004-12-01 09:36 AM

. Of the alternatives, NESP >> STU... but if you've done SS lines, you might be screwed... we need to double check on the brake rules for SP. But if SS lines aren't allowed, and I already had 'em on my STi, I'd just get a reflash and run in SM.

I take it this was directed towards me since I just did my lines this weekend  If I have to run SM I am so going to be broke/possibly single and living in my SUBIHLR

qksubi 2004-12-01 09:42 AM

Rumor Mill DEAN + STI - Wing + DMS50=

Dean 2004-12-01 09:55 AM

For the last time, Brake lines are OK in SP!

Quote:

15.6 BRAKES
Vehicles may only exceed the allowances of 13.6 as specified herein.

A. Any brake line, single or dual master cylinder, vacuum brake
booster, or brake proportioning valves may be used. This does not
allow multiple separate cylinders, but does allow for any single,
dual-circuit cylinder. “Safety brakers” and units such as the “Brake
Guard System” are permitted. ABS braking systems may be disabled,
but not removed; brake boosters may be removed or added.
Air ducts may be fitted to the brakes, provided that they extend in
a forward direction only, and that no changes are made in the body/structure for their use. They may serve no other purpose.
Backing plates and dirt shields may be modified or removed.

B. Cross-drilled and/or slotted brake rotors may be used, provided the
replacement rotors have the same dimensions as standard rotors
and are of a standard-type construction and of ferrous metallic
material. This does not permit the use of a two-piece hat/rotor
assembly unless the standard configuration is two-piece.

sperry 2004-12-01 09:58 AM

Cool, thanks Dean! I couldn't remember the specifics on brakes in SP. All I rememberd was being stunned that you couldn't upgrade them. I guess the "upgrades" I was thinking of were full-on BBKs.

So, if SS lines, pads, rotors, and fluid are allowed, then that's pretty good! I feel sorry for the Mustang boys with their ass OEM brakes that they can't really do much about, considering they're up against the OEM Brembos of the STi and EVO.

Either way... I'm all about BOOOOOST this season in SM. But I think I'm gonna need more of it to be competative. :(

MikeSTI 2004-12-01 10:15 AM

looks like I will need to run in ESP and buy a new badge for the rear deck lid

Cobb should have a no modified boost map by then :?

Stock GT brakes suck but you can up/backdate to the Cobra PBR setup, which is good enough for autocrossing.
