I see murphy online!

What is new chris?

Kevin M 2005-03-01 04:36 PM

After he catches up to today's shenanigans I'm sure he'll be posting an update. Say, 45 minutes?

Dean 2005-03-01 04:39 PM

Where should we send a care package?

What do you need?

He leaves from Oaklahoma in about 7 days IIRC. So if we were to send something, it'd prolly get there just after he left. I doubt he's got an Afghani address yet.

We'll send him some car mags and SECCS stickers as soon as he gets there!

murphy 2005-03-01 04:45 PM

well not exactly 45 mins...things have slowed down a good deal since we validated. Unit is packed up, choppers are being broken down to be loaded onto C-5's. Most people are on a 4 day pass (the one I was on before). I'm taking some stupid field sanitation class..learning about all kinds of sickness that you can get in the field and what not...my fav. as of now is still "beaver fever". Thats the slang term use for what you can get from drinking water from a stream if you don't know whats craping in it up from you. still on plan for me to leve on an 18 hour flight on the 8-9 of this month. Some big official thing on Thurs. for sending us off. Pretty stupid.

*edit* I do have the address in afghanistan, I just forgot to bring it with me. I'll have it next time I'm on.

sti deede 2005-03-01 04:45 PM

I bought him a SRIC shirt too, so we can sent that too.

murphy 2005-03-01 04:47 PM

We'll get some good stuff to you like Scott said...

Dean 2005-03-01 04:50 PM

You should probably tell us what not to send as well. Don't want to get you in trouble... There is probably a web site that tells us somewhere...

Do you have a DVD player? We can send you the WRCs or whatever you want on DVD...

Civies = Civilian outer clothes...

Food and junk are OK, as well as I think socks and underwear... Can undershirts have anything on them, on only pure white?

No alcohol either if I recall correctly.

murphy 2005-03-01 04:59 PM

Thanks people. we will be told what we can and can not have sent to us this week..I know its no booze in country..but I need to loose my gut anyway. For things like DVD players and what not we do have a PX that we can get stuff like that. Thats way to expensive to send anyway. Now wrc on a burned dvd would kick ass, that and AMA superbike series  Hell motor sports related things would kick ass. I'm not thinking of what to get until I get in the swing. But one good rumor I have herd is that they have LAN line internet connections at the FOB's (forward operating bases) which I'll be spending most of my time at.

Dean 2005-03-01 05:09 PM
