Costco here is only $2.88/gal. :) Basically everywhere else is over $3 though, even for regular.

Looks like the GVR-4 is going to be in the garage for awhile, at least until gas prices go down alittle. I'm glad i bought that Scirocco can't argue with 325 miles on a 12 gallon tank!

This morning in Carson gas was $2.65 per gallon for 91, right now it is $3.35 for 91. I don't think driving for enjoyment is dead yet, but hopefully this jump in gas will get some of those huge trucks and suvs of the road.

I love Scirocco's. That's one of the cars I gawk at when I see them.

I'm going to be driving around 6-700 miles this weekend. At least my MC gives me 5% back on gas and groceries.

I'll be making a trip to the bay area for a drift day, this weekend. Does anyone now what gas prices are like down there?

cody 2005-09-01 09:37 PM

I'd be surprised if they're much different than here. They're usually the same.

Nick Koan 2005-09-01 09:46 PM

yeah, from what I've heard from my bay area buddies, its about the same.

I don't really care if they stop driving or not (it'd be nice, though). I just want them to regret owning one - even for a little while.

JonnydaJibba 2005-09-02 06:23 AM

It wasn't $5 a gallon today! Well at least this morning. The peril continues!

Dun dun duuuuuuuun.

Libila 2005-09-02 07:31 AM

I feel bad saying this but I filled up yesterday with 89 octane and payed $2.50 a gallon.

AtomicLabMonkey 2005-09-02 07:34 AM

Gas prices seem to be going up $0.20/day here.

Seconded. it cost one of my buddies $56 to fill aboiut 2/3rds of a tank in one of those behemouths yesterday...

Reno 911 2005-09-02 08:59 AM

I paid $3.09 yesterday in Reno, I drove by the same station this morning and the price has jumped to $3.45.

cody 2005-09-02 09:01 AM

I'm glad I filled up two days ago when I suspected this would happen...

Will it ever go down again?

maybe, the news I have been hearing was that these prices are a result of higher barrel prices that have takin place the past few weeks and the stations are just now adjusting. The things happening in the south had nothing to do with the first incresses, but now with a 16% less production I'm sure they will incress even more, once we get that 16% back in production we could see prices for 91 at about 3.09 - 3.29 as a final new rate

sperry 2005-09-02 09:51 AM

I paid 3.29 for premium last night at about midnight... I was surprised it was that low. Chevron on S. Meadows.

M3n2c3 2005-09-02 10:57 AM

I think it was the same at the Chevron here on the corner of 395 and 50 (Carson and William).

tysonK 2005-09-02 01:04 PM

If the higher prices have nothing to do the south the we are really in for some crap in the near future.

sp00ln 2005-09-02 02:21 PM

Its not $5!! I told all my friends and people that it was going up! No one believed me tho.. haha. Good thing.

Duckie 2005-09-03 04:08 AM

I would bet 100 octane at the track is still right around $5/gal.. It has seldom been affected by mainstream fluctuations as far as I know.

MikeK 2005-09-03 08:23 PM

I think it was $7 a gallon last time we were at RFR

RFR doesn't count. I'm talking about tracks with actual pumps, not some guy a couple barrels of race gas and a we take cash sign... :)

sp00ln 2005-09-04 01:51 PM

What... I heard you can get 100 for like $3.95. I dont know tho, never bought the stuff.
