Cars that have significant differences in performance by the stopwatch, but would be hard to tell jsut watching them or even looking under the hood.

If that's the case, my SUBARU badge might work for you guys, but I don't have a WRX badge for Dean since mine's an RS. And I don't even know if the SUBARU letters from my car are the same as whatever yours came with stock. I doubt anyone will get that technical though.

Street mod aint so bad, you guys will feel very welcome here!

muhahahahha ... bitches

I still have my badges somewhere, I just really don't want to put them on, especially since I'm supposed to get my car repainted this Summer...

I might just run SM since I don't really think I stand much of a chance of taking ESP anyway, but I'd prefer to run in the same group as Nick and Derrick.

Put the badges on magnets... I was considering that. Then you can mess with the letters as well. "U R A BUS" would be appropriate for your car. :)

JonnydaJibba 2007-03-09 09:16 AM

Dang, that's a good idear.

I meant the 2007 rule book. I don't remember badging being an issue in SP last year.

At any rate, the thing that gets my goat about it is that debadging is legal in ST. . . but I can't run 235/40-17 tires in STS.

I may join you guys in SM. Is 78SM free? Or maybe RNP. . .

I don't suppose it could be argued that in Japan the cars come from the factory without the S U B A R U badging. . . :P

 I thought about that. Do you guys think the magnets would make it legal?

I think putting them on magnets complies with the intent of these two rule sections:

Quote:

13.2 BODYWORK
A. Accessories, gauges, indicators, lights and other appearance,
comfort and convenience modifications which have no effect on
performance and/or handling and do not materially reduce the
weight of the car are permitted.

15.2 BODYWORK
Vehicles may only exceed the allowances of 13.2 as specified herein.

B. Removal of factory trim is only permitted if the resultant configuration
is an allowed update or backdate.
By having them on the car complies with 15.2 and putting them on the car and the magnets would fall under 13.2 IMHO.

OMG... Large versions of those would rock as car numbers and class letters.

You can run STX, in which you will be much less out-classed by other Subarus. Actually, your car isn't that much slower than an STX WRX on many coruses anyway.

As for the rest of you... I think you have strength in numbers enough to physically beat down anybody who decides to protest this issue.
