I could not make the 6:30 show but made the 3:35 show. We were walking down the street and could hear everyone running up into the parking structure (exhaust). The bike cops down on the street stopped to listen but I didn't look to interested in riding up hill.

Great movie. We all think even Cory might like it. :)

That Cory guy doesn't like ANYTHING! WTF's wrong with him...?

John, just because you're gay doesn't mean EVERYONE else is... You can't just assume. :P
|
I don't assume. Remember that one time...when you sodomized that Jew?

Hey now who is sodomizing who here?

You talk a lot about putting things up peoples butts, that's all.

FISTING, FTW!!!
That exhaust you all heard, was probably me! |
Bump for I watched Shaun of the Dead this weekend, and I must say, NOTHING about it prompted me to want to watch Hot Fuzz... that is all.
|
Well, in Hot Fuzz the end is a bunch of really sweet shooting and explosions and stuff.
|
That doesn't help at all... I need more than that in a movie.
|
Actually, much of the humor in Hot Fuzz lies in its parodies of cop buddy action movies. Especially Bad Boys II.

Its a homage to all sorts of buddy cop movies. The two explicitly referenced are Bad Boys II and Point Break, but it is more than just a parody of either of those.

even with the parodies, it wasn't entirely just a spoof of your typical cop movie. i liked the plot. in shawn of the dead, the story is pretty much straight forward - there are zombies and the crew needs to flee to safety, beating up zombies on the way, just like any other zombie movie. hot fuzz isn't as predictable. more stuff to think about and keep you interested. plus it has lots of other original funny material.
