He did a pretty good job for a first timer. Learn the track, learn the kart and then learn to shift. The spin out is part of my 2 years old+ tires that have no grip at all. Are you gonna post the movie here?

If the CRG purchase was to happen, that would mean the sale of the wagon. The CRG kart is a 80cc shifter that would be run with the Stead Karting Club in the 80cc Novice class and not at autocross.

Dean 2007-07-23 08:13 AM

Is there a 125 novice class? If so, then you could do both... On second thought, you could run the 80 in F125 at autocross I think...

Oh right. I forgot, when the Riggs get some race tires, they'll probably be some competition.

cody 2007-07-23 09:00 AM

That's true, you were closer to them than you were to Bill and me. :P

MikeK 2007-07-23 09:27 AM

Smack talk makes autocross fun!

Nobody run 125 this year, not even 80 soft tires (most of the fast guy run). Everybody come down to 80 hard tire, that why we have to split it to 2 class 80 novice and limited. 80 in F125 is hard, you have to get at least soft tire and front brake but still down in power.

This is the first kart that I'll actually go look at. The CRG that I posted was sold before I had a chance. These pictures are of a Trackmagic 125cc Honda engine and 6spd gearbox. The wife has not give the go with not selling the Subaru yet but we'll see. Enjoy the pictures of your possible competition nex year.

I don't care for the yellow body work and the seat is probably to big but that can change. It's one of the cleanest I've seen yet.

wrxkidid 2007-08-10 06:08 PM

you should let me test drive it.

Dean 2007-08-10 07:38 PM

That is clean. What is something like that going for? What year chassis? As I recall, that makes a difference.

The kart is going for a very "flexable" $3,000. Hope to pick it up for $2000-2,300. It's a Trackmagic Diable 2000. It's kinda been hanging around a garage between 2003 and now. Comes with the cart, lots of old tires(burn them up learning this winter), fuel jugs and misc odds and ends.

The learning curve is going to be steep on this baby. I'm always up for something new and challenging.

Damn, that is a deal. I'd consider getting into Karts for that type of initial investment... What was the phone number and address on that??? ;)

I worked until four this morning and thought about it all night as I was left foot braking.

The wife rolled out a little before six and I was off to the kitchen. Before she was out of the bathroom, I was now armed with fresh coffee in hand, eggs, sausage, muffins and juice. Baby, I said with a smile. Wife,"Does this have to do with your new desktop picture?"

To make a long story short, I've been approved for the buy if it ends up looking as good in person as in the pictures. Yep, it was worth only sleeping 2 hours and getting the food ready and the smile. It was all in the smile.:D

Next will be a driving suit, full face helmet, gloves and lets not forget rib protector. After a couple of laps in Zpeed's 80cc without the rib protector, I now know how important it is.

Dean 2007-08-11 08:25 AM

Go get it... I want to try it some time. Keep the fat guy seat handy. :)

Maybe whoever has it would throw those in as well if they have them...

I thought jeans and leather jacket were acceptable if not preferred???

I have a large FF M2000 or M1995 around somewhere that the SNELL sticker pealed off of if that would help?

Joeyy 2007-08-11 10:53 AM

I'm going down with the wife after she gets off work. Going to take some more pictures so Zpeed can see it and also still need to talk the price over.

Thanks for the option of your helmet. Money will be tight until I can work some overtime. Alpinestar makes a kart specific suit with pads that I'd like to get.

I need to save for the money to join the kart club so I can start getting track time in. Purchase weights before comp. because I'm to light. Min weight with driver is 385 lbs. Between placing the weights, shifting the seat around and axle width, I should be able to balance the sucker out.

Man, I need to take a nap but I can't get my eyes off Watkins Glenn on ESPN. My dad was going to go but the prices are to much for him. I purchased a weekend package for Fri, Sat & Sun years ago and took him. He said he could not find any weekend packages and it was going to be $75 for Sat or $95 for Sunday. With the poor economy in upstate NY they're not going to fill the seats with that high a price tag. Hope I can get back next year and take him. Damn sometimes it sucks to miss home.

Joeyy 2007-08-11 07:10 PM

Simply put, I'm the proud new owner of a 125cc shifter.

Dean 2007-08-11 07:25 PM

Congrats.

No ripping around the neighborhood, you might get a ticket. :)

Any more free stuff in the deal?

MikeK 2007-08-11 08:45 PM

Awesome!

Free stuff...

Air tank, two rear wheels w/tires, two front wheels w/tires, large fuel jug, neck brace, fuel lines, zip ties, misc nuts/bolts, plastic parts organizer and spark plugs.

Good news, the seat fits me. Bad, the rolling cart has a flat.

Sorry Joeyy: Did not check my mail at all all week. Busy training in my parttime job doing the phone thing. Paint kid room + moving the office. Still use the wireless connection now!! Check out www.k1speed.com for suit and stuff.

I plan to go out Friday after lunch to prepare for our only Saturday night race. Would you like to come out and play?

What time are you looking at? I'm working the "yard" this month, so I'll be getting up between noon and one. I'll have to get my hands on another full face helmet (Dean?) and figure out were I'm going to buy fuel. Did you ever get another plastic cap for your brake res? I also have one with a leak and I could always order two.

Kevin M 2007-08-13 12:04 PM

Derrick, I sent you a PM.

Joeyy 2007-08-20 05:48 PM

IKF race this weekend. Anybody that wants to watch some good close racing should stop out. If Friday night is not too crazy at work, I'll go out Sat moring. I'm not racing but sticking my nose into the pits to hopefully learn something or maby get to turn a wrench.
