I just need to plug in my repaired DCCD controller. I'm glad I paid $100 for for overnight shipping from Canada last Thursday, since it's Tuesday and still not delivered. DHL is the fucking WORST.

Sweet pedals.

Looking good dude. IMO you should put SFI padding on every bar even remotely close to your head though, not that pipe insulation looking stuff.

The SFI stuff is *expensive*... 10 times the cost of the soft stuff... $10/ft vs. $1/ft. Plus the soft stuff works better for the small bumps you get just riding around in the car, granted it's not as friendly in a big wreck.

The only reason I went with the good shit on the upper X bar was because getting in and out of the car was tearing up the cheap stuff easily.

But, I do have some more of the SFI padding, I guess I could stick that on the overhead bars as well.

You know the saying about safety gear; if you gotta $10 head...

1st mod I ever did to the WRX. They came off my friend's RS that he rolled like the week after I got my car.

NICE! I assume you figured out what was wrong with the DCCD too, by your waiting for the repaired controller. Good shit! (sorry if you posted this somewhere else, and I just missed it...)

I don't remember if I mentioned it.

Basically, I hooked up a light bulb to the DCCD controller output at the request of the manufacturer, and got no light. So it seemed like the problem was internal to the controller, and sent the unit back to Neetronics.

They kick major ass, and repaired the unit for free (even though it's out of warranty) since I was paying them for a firmware upgrade that will give me finer control over the lock-up percentage for road-racing. Hopefully the problem was isolated to the controller, which would have explained the blown fuse. But if the fuse blew (and took the controller with it) for some other reason, I may likely see another failure. Since everything worked in the past, I'm betting that the issue is sorted, but I won't know for sure until I get the repaired controller back and into the car. Something that should have happened last Friday, but DHL can't tell the difference between "overnight" shipping and "fuck it, we'll take a week" shipping.

Nice to hear Neetronics kicks ass. I recommend their DCCD controllers from time to time.

MPREZIV 2007-06-19 11:42 AM

I'm just glad to hear that is doesn't seem to be a mechanical failure! Cool that they were glad to help out!
