Here's a thought, possibly brought on by my insomnia: are those wheels hubcentric? Any chance they're perfectly balanced, they're just not centering on the hub?

huh... That could be because they are hubcentric. I'll throw that idea in the box-o-possibilities as well. Thanks for that

Also possible that I could have forgot to put 1 of the hubcentric rings in.. Just thought of that.

Use the centering rings on all 4 wheels and only tighten in a star pattern. Maybe use a torque wrench for good measure.

I thought if you used the Acorn lug nuts you could actually be OK with out a hub centering wheel and that subaru using both was just awesome overkill. ?? (someone's drunken rambling after a race i'm pretty sure) so maybe what i heard was false ?

No, that's true. You just have to be meticulous with the tightening process to ensure the wheel centers up as the lugs tighten. Hubcentric rings/wheels just reduce the chance you'll get it wrong.

I dont remember. But I trust you. Come to my office and I'll give you one Genuine Subaru Lug nut

Your office? And it's not a subaru lug nut. It was the day you came over because you were missing a lug nut and I also buffed your car when it was vandalized by a snowboard.

FYI: I was having a bunch of vibration on the svx after putting on the summer wheels/tires above 60 mph. On Friday, I loosened the two front tires, then carefully hand seated the lugs and re-torques the lugs. No more vibration.

My wheels are all hub centric too, though I've got some spacers up front which makes them more susceptible to being out of balance.
