Trimline did mine, 360 for high quality material 35, then 15 for the rest. (that included a windshield strip). That also includes tax. Turned out wonderful, no pics yet.

Bump this sucker up, got me an appt for 4/3, maybe sooner. Good guy.

eggeegg 2007-03-13 10:39 AM

when i bought my car, the windows were already tinted so i don't know how much they were tinted. the only problem i have with it is at night when street lights aren't present, i can't really see what's to the left of me when i make left hand turns. i never really understood why too dark tint was illegal. i thought it was just to help mr. police man profile you.

left footed whooten 2007-03-13 12:03 PM

I would't want it in the front windows too dark because I like to be able to see the driver and have other drivers see me. May not do the fronts at all.

'Cept in a wagon, I like all the windows to be the same.

left footed whooten 2007-03-13 02:14 PM

I dunno, California boy that I am, it just feels strange having dark tint on the fronts. Still deciding, but I'll probably go 15% behind fronts, 35% at fronts. That's not backwards, is it? Darker back, lghter front, but not by much. 1 increment.

Kevin M 2007-03-13 02:21 PM

I'm just going to take my wagon to Trimline and say "max legal tint with non-radar interfering film please." Make it nice and easy on myself.

JonnydaJibba 2007-03-13 02:41 PM

Hopefully that will prevent other drivers on the road from being blinded by your forehead.

van 2007-03-13 04:12 PM

zing!

That's what I did. They did a pretty good job although they broke the clip that holds middle seatbelt when not in use. They tried to glue it which lasted about 20 minutes. They admitted the mistake and ordered the part. I had to go back to have them fix it, but at least they didn't totally fuck me over.

I had to get my car washed last Friday (had a date) and didn't have time to do it myself. Against my better judgment, I took it to Mission Car Wash and somehow they managed to rip 5 or 6 little holes in the tint on my driver side front window. :(

That's better than the huge crease they put in my fender.

I used the good old fence removal method to hide that one though.

cody 2007-03-13 11:26 PM

Is there a place in town to get your car washed that doesn't suck? I went to Freeway Car Wash (or something like that) on W. McCaran but it was closed.

tysonK 2007-03-14 06:19 AM

Driveway.

DoubleR Touchless, maestro/mCcaran.

cody 2007-03-14 08:04 AM

Thanks. Now that the weather is nice, I'll be doing all the washing hopefully.

wrxkidid 2007-03-17 07:56 PM

khail19 2007-03-18 11:43 AM

First owner? And if so I would think the only kind of 60 year to buy an evo would be an old dude looking to have a some fun and drive the hell out of the car? how's the clutch?

:?:...

wrxkidid 2007-04-03 09:46 PM

i did my research haha.

mines black too.

left footed whooten 2007-09-13 02:13 PM

Nice. The WRX gets tint on the 26th, the GF gets her Outback done on the 22nd. We will be pimp. Great prices from Tom.

MattR 2007-09-20 10:37 PM

Tom? at Trimline? I need to tint the front windows in the FJ, maybe I should give them a try.

My car is the black sedan if you have been to the meets. I have 20% all around(the four side windows and rear window).

I have had my tint for almost 2 years and I have never been pulled over for having it too dark. 20% is illegal in the front door windows, IIRC 35% is the limit.

I paid $180 cash at the place listed below. He did and awesome job. On my old NEON I had a $250 pro job, and this guy did better work than they did,Trimline on Greg St. He did the job in about 1.5 hours. Be warned this is a one man operation and there may be a wait to get in.

This Tom. Sounds like the man.

MattR 2007-09-21 05:26 AM

Oh rad. Thanks

JonnydaJibba 2007-09-21 08:22 AM

My tint is FUCKED UP on one of the front winders. Perhaps I should visit Tom too.

cody 2007-09-21 08:27 AM

Mine too. Thank you Mission Car Wash.

JonnydaJibba 2007-09-21 08:35 AM

How did it happen? Somehow the heat this summer made mine wrinkle.

cody 2007-09-21 08:52 AM

I can only guess that there was a rock in the rag they used to clean the inside of the window or the guy was wearing a big ring or something. There were like 5 little "chunks" taken out of the tint along with little tabs of tint so you could tell it was fresh. I noticed it as soon as I looked out the window when exiting their parking lot. :(

left footed whooten 2007-09-21 08:53 AM

One thing I was concerned about was the window track or whatever part that made a 1" vertical stripe up the center of the window after some significant mileage. Both my 97 OB and my 96 Imp had it. Does anyone have this go on? Did it screw up your tint and/or make it look like ass?

cody 2007-09-21 09:31 AM

The tint I had installed 2 years ago at trimline (the more expensive metalic stuff) has held up against that issue very well.

scoobymods has a procedure for taking care of that. Basically the little pad gets full of dust and hardens. You just scrub it a bit and it goes back to being frayed cloth or whatever it is. I plan to do it to my new/old wagon before I get it tinted.

left footed whooten 2007-09-21 12:07 PM

Good to know, I'll probably do that after winter since mine is still pretty new.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-09-21 10:42 PM

My wifes uncle Greg works and trimline along with like 10 other people we know and I have to say that I have never seen a better tint job.

Thomas Kang. He did the wagon's back 5 windows and I've had no issues and I think it looks sweet. He'll be doing the Legacy when I get it.

wrxkidid 2007-09-24 05:57 PM

Thomas Kang did mine too. Did a great job for an amazing price.
