Damn. Silver bigass truck hooked to a silver trailer with a silver STi strapped to it. All he needs then is a stripper perched on the STi with a silver thong and silver spike heels, and the Total Silver Lifestyle Package will be complete.

Silver is a lifestyle. Believe it! Strippers are cool and all, but the heels would destroy the hood.

Bitch better not scratch the paint - that's why you just have her sit up with her ass on the fender, the heels hang over the side.

JC 2005-04-12 07:26 PM

So Today I got the front two windows tinited to match, so now the Truck is sporting 20% all the way around...much improved.

Also, I had clear-bra installed at AutoShield in Rancho.

While I waited, I took the shop "bike" for a spin.

I'm not sure why, but the look on your face instantly made me think "pirate".

It could have something to do with the fact that I've been drinking this evening...

MattR 2005-04-17 07:45 AM

Weird but true.

tysonK 2005-04-17 10:04 AM

So, I picked up the Hauler today. 16' PJ Trailer. Metal Deck. I dig it. I just have to modify the ramps a bit, but otherwise, its good to go.

Defcon?

LetItRev 2005-04-19 11:07 PM

Nice!

BOO 2005-04-20 04:29 AM

sti deede 2005-04-20 06:03 AM

Cool Toys own. Congrats Matt, oh how exciting.
One question though, do you have to tie down the car on the trailor? I didn't see any straps.

Pat R. 2005-04-20 07:29 AM

That's identical to mine except for the steel deck.

Yes, you definitely have to tie down a car when you're hauling it.

Yeah, Definately tie downs. I just parked the car on the trailer to take some measurements and pictures for a few mods to the ramp and possibly to build a tire rack. I'm gonna try to go get the tie downs this afternoon.

MikeSTI 2005-04-20 07:52 AM

Nice!!!! So are you going to put the trailer in the garage and park the suby on it?

No, the suby still gets the garage, I'm parking the trailer at my mom's house for now, she's got space for it.

Pat R. 2005-04-20 07:59 AM

Where in town can you get tie-down hooks?
I'm looking for something like this:

I think R&E Fasteners on Freeport can get stuff like that...

Or better yet, try FleetPride down on Glendale accross from Summit Racing. Ask for Rich and tell him I sent you down there...He can get pretty much anything.

MattR 2005-04-20 08:02 AM

Pat, where are you going to mount those cleets? on the trailer frame?

Either that or we can get scott to sit in it to help keep the car from moving. If the car starts to roll back, he'll gas it forwards. If it starts to slide forward, he can pop it in reverse.

bruspeed 2005-04-20 08:48 AM

Wow! Now that's a pretty nice rig!! Good Work!

Those hook into the car's frame and you attach the chain / strap to them.

MattR 2005-04-20 09:43 AM

Sweet.

What is FleetPride's ph #? I tried two trailer dealers, Fastenal, R&E, Napa, Grainger, Trailer Wholesale, Harbor Freight, TPE, Summit Racing and about four other places. Every one of them looked at me like I was stupid when I showed them a picture of the R hook.

I have it on my Rolodex at work, I'll get it for you tommorrow.

Pat R. 2005-04-20 08:27 PM

You = The Man

MattR 2005-04-21 05:55 AM

Pat,
Rich is the man at Fleetpride...331-0344 I would suggest that you print out that picture and take it down there, and see if he can match it up with anything.

You might be better off with the soft straps that go through the wheels than those if you don't have 4 good tie down points on the car itself. Due to suspension compression, any sprung point will move and or get slack in it, especially in the front under braking. Last thing you want is one of those cleats getting loose enough to come out on a bump.

Tying down a car is tricky. I've done it quite a number of times now, and I still double check it after a mile or two and almost always find a strap that has loosened in some manner.

Wheel tie downs are cool, but you have to be careful with them as well because if you winch on them to hard, you can mess up your alignment, or bend suspension bits....

doubleurx 2005-04-30 09:11 AM

Awesome Matt:

Nice color matching. Are the fenders on the trailer painted to match?

Now you need some oversized SECCS stickers!

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but you can get those from www.awdirect.com . I actually have their catalog in the trunk of my car if you need a P/N.
