Electrical system chose not to charge the battery. Probably related to the rear O2 sensor wire dropping onto the exhaust late last week and frying some stuff. It should be sorted in plenty of time for the next event.

What a fucking weekend...

Thank you EVERYONE who helped me keep things moving along this weekend! We had more than our fair share of problems, but everybody pulled together and made it happen. Not once did I turn to someone for help and get a negative response.

Well, you should have heard the negative responses I was mentioning to myself yesterday as I was coding the website up to include boilerplate text on every solo event with the schedule info.

MPREZIV 2013-04-15 01:34 PM

I only understand about 1/3 of what you just said, but I'll take it as you were doing something unpleasant, in order to help me out... so THANKS! ;)

It is an interesting challenge to drive with intermittent power steering.

I thought i fixed my power steering issues with a new pump, but i was getting slight slight cut out ... maybe i should have flushed all the fluid ? or at least changed the in line filter?? :?:

mine was directly after the non directional slalom and didn't affect my time (my poor driving did that)

SoyKraut 2013-04-15 08:11 PM

Let the video posting begin! Here is Robyn attacking the course!

SoyKraut 2013-04-15 08:30 PM

And one of me attempting to attack, steering like a bus driver in the process.

Rounds 2 and 3 results posted.

 I got really lucky with both you and Joe coning away those fast runs. I appreciate it. :P:D

A1337STI 2013-04-30 09:24 AM

I saw Joe i believe it was, very sideways at turn 2 , almost worked out for him but not quite...

i think you should up the rear sway a little more and enter some drift comps ! :)

Yup he just clipped that pointer cone, I was sitting at the start watching it as well.

I probably could, tighten up the sway, lock the diff in the rear and go. Kevin M. was in the car on my first run for a dorifto on the back sweeper, but I couldn't keep it together and spun. It was actually kind of funny, as one of the drift guys that were out there came up to me after the event asking if I was into drifting.:oops:

Man, I was on course for that spin, it was HUGE! haha. Fun to watch though.

I rather enjoyed that run. The part of my brain saying "gee, I am pretty sure Kev's coming in pretty hot on cold tires, and we're going back asswards towards the bleachers" was competing well with the other part of my brain going "OMGWE'REGONNADIERUNRUNRUNOMGWTFBBQ!"

MattR 2013-05-15 10:03 AM

Hey, is anyone autocrossing this weekend?

Cory, do you know who the event chairs are? Looking forward to it.

Yup. I will be there.

I believe Dewey/Cory are the chairs this weekend.

MPREZIV 2013-05-15 11:10 AM

Yep, it'll be Dewey and I as chairs this weekend.

In honor of last weekend, the upcoming course is Catalunya...!

MattR 2013-05-15 11:15 AM

Cool, I should be out a bit early Saturday to help with whatever. Can't wait

MikeK 2013-05-18 06:27 PM

Round 4 results posted.

MPREZIV 2013-05-19 09:10 PM

Thanks Mike!

What a weekend! "Mini Catalunya" will DEFINITELY be going into the database to be used again in the future! It was a fantastically challenging and FAST course! Dewey did an amazing job putting it together!

Thanks again everyone who helped out this weekend!

MattR 2013-05-19 09:12 PM

Awesome weekend, one of the best events in a long while. Thanks guys

MikeK 2013-05-19 09:26 PM

Anyone have results for me?

k-dogg39 2013-05-19 10:06 PM

Had a great time this weekend. Great job on the courses. Challenging but really fun!

A1337STI 2013-05-20 08:25 AM

yes that course was a blast. i kept making different mistakes each run through and had basically the same time every run. my last run was a re-run and my tires were too hot, but i don't like making everyone working the course wait just so they can cool down. tires definitely lost a little grip with the back to back and didn't quite stick at the same speeds . stupid understeer. lost about a 1/2 second on my last run but it did give Jeana twice the rides so it worked out pretty darn good

Laptop crash during the last run group is requiring an audit and manual entry of a bunch of times. I should have it ready for you in a couple hours.

MattR 2013-05-20 03:12 PM

Man, I'm guessing it's pretty messed up, I'm assuming that moth I found in the timing box may not have had anything to do with the crash. Who knows. Hopefully we kept good paper notes.

Did you take the moth out of the box!? Who did you think was monitoring all the timing controls in there? No wonder it stopped working.

MikeK 2013-05-20 05:05 PM

Thanks Kevin. Results are up now.

Kevin M 2013-05-20 06:54 PM

Don't thank me yet. One way or another the file I sent Mike apparently has missing runs and entries. I don't have the data with me tonight so I will have to sort it out in the morning.

MattR 2013-05-20 07:01 PM

Looks fine to me :p

k-dogg39 2013-05-20 08:24 PM

Sweet won it with my 4 cone run. Ha ha

MikeK 2013-06-08 10:52 PM

Round 6 results are up. Cory, well done. Your raw times look great!

MikeK 2013-06-09 07:57 PM

Round 7 results posted.

MattR 2013-06-09 08:50 PM

Wow. What a day. I don't recall placing that high in raw time before with the mini.

Kevin M 2013-06-10 07:59 AM

That was retard fast, even for you Matt. Makes me a little mad that I coned away a run that would have beaten you. :P

A1337STI 2013-06-10 08:47 AM

I coned away a run that would have still been a bit slower :( guess I need to look at buying a mini now :p

or chair an event just so i can design a course that's all hair pins... lol

One might say it's... MPREZIV.

Rebound damping much?

MPREZIV 2013-06-17 04:57 PM

There's a HUGE dip in the blacktop down on that end of the property, and there was a fast sweeping corner that apexed right on top of it. It just THROWS the inside of the car skyward. I do want to replace my coil-overs with something that handles up-sets like that more appropriately.

Same spot, similar corner, 6 years ago, Eric Bennett (QKSubi) runs up to me after a few runs in the rain and tells me I was entirely off the ground hitting that bump...!

You would think, right? This reminded me of the old PFR days, where ever bad idea we had got placed on a magnet!
