Not just any blue sti, it was me. I was getting food downtown, really I'm not too lazy to walk.

I thought it might be, but then said,... nah, why would she drive when it's only like a 3-5 block walk on a beautiful day... Silly me.

Think I saw Tyson go by me in the green arrow lane in front of the McD's at the Lemmon Valley turnoff yesterday evening. I was in the green wagon heading to Reno-Stead International....

Also saw a debadged white STi full of *looked like* 5 teenagers on the 395 near the Hilton.

U53D 2005-07-12 09:49 AM

i saw a blue sti with white prodrive sticker across his trunk... loud exhaust... never seen it around town

warnoldscu 2005-07-18 08:10 PM

I pulled up next to a blue STI on Kietzke a few blocks north of the dealership there... rolled down my window to say hi real quick. He sort of took off into traffic and my lane wasn't clear so I didn't get a very good chance to see if my leggy could hold up, but just thought I'd post to see if he's on this forum...

Silver STi crossing from Walmart to the Carson Valley Plaza last night about 8:45PM. . . belong to anyone here?

cody 2005-08-11 03:53 PM

Today at 11:30, I saw a Sonic Yellow WRX sedan on S. Virginia heading North. I was a few cars back but eventually caught up and pulled up beside her and waved. She totally ignored me, but I don't think on purpose. The car was 100% stock externally except her tails looked different but I could be wrong.

:( I wanted to hook up.

I've noticed that the vast majority of RS/WRX owners in the area seem to just be kids whose parents could afford one, who have no clue what they're driving. Or older people who have no clue what they're driving.

cody 2005-08-11 06:46 PM

Oh yah, it's a 180 from what I'm used to. I used to wave at every Impreza (even some legacys) I saw when I was in the bay area and most would wave back.

I guess in Reno, everyone and their mom drives a Suby. I've had to abandon that practice. I just thought another Sonic Yellow owner would be happy to see me. Oh well.

It's the snow + AWD. They go into the dealer because they hear about the AWD, and leave with a WRX wagon because the dealer convinced them that something called a "turbocharger" is worth the extra money. Then they drive it under 3000rpm for the life of the vehicle.

I work on the corner of mill and bible in that office complex and there is an awesome STI parked out there right now - silver w/ silver BBS rims, looks like an RS wing (maybe just a hair smaller? pretty sleek looking though) and the front hoodscoop is replaced with a mesh grill that is flush with the hood so you can see in. When I looked in there seems to be no top mount but definitely some chrome piping that I am unable to identify cruising around in there... anyone on here? If so sweet ride...too bad I don't have my camera to post a pic.

Hey - keep waving at those Legacys! Some of us appreciate it...I always wave at wrx/sti owners and try to wave at outback xt's...though I have yet to get a return wave from an outback owner. I think STI owner's are the best at waving back to me, even better than other legacys!

Nick Koan 2005-08-12 09:33 AM

That silver/silver STi sounds like Matt (can't remember his name, Mattnog or something on nasioc, IIRC).

This car, right?

warnoldscu 2005-08-12 09:39 AM

that's it for sure...is he on this board?

Nick Koan 2005-08-12 09:44 AM

Dunno, but he comes to the meets semi-regularly.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I saw my first Blaze Yellow WRX parked at REI about a month ago. I even had my camera. Anyone on here?

cody 2005-08-12 10:16 AM

Happy 2000 posts nKoan! :w00t:

White GC Impreza parked in the dirt lot of the Carson storage center on H395 at the south end of Carson City. I thought it might be JC because the wing looked right and it had black rims, but I couldn't see if it had the CF hood or not.

So, right or wrong? If not JC then anyone else?

knucklesplitter 2005-08-15 09:11 PM

Yeah, that Silver STI with the Subaru-o-Europe wing and the custom hood vent is mine. I was at that office building for some Solidworks 3D CAD training (so I can design an even better hood vent :D ). Purposely parked next to a nice pair of Subies - a WRX and a Legacy GT on Thursday. I'll be there later this week too.

Hey Matt how about a cnc'd aluminum dash plate for the '05 that doesn't scratch? Mine is beat. BTW nice work. I saw your post over on Nasioc.

Saw a white STI on I-80 near Dutch Flat today. No stickers and personal plates "ITSASTI". The plate may be similar. Came up on a merge in the construction and they felt the need to push the merge as far a they could and cut in front of a bunch of cars so they could due 50 MPH in line with the rest of us. Could not see the driver, tinting windows and all and tinted tail lights also. It looking good just inpatient.

That's Brandon's bitch-ass. :P

(I dunno why picking on that kid is so much fun... but it is! )

knucklesplitter 2005-08-17 06:29 PM

Saw a green '84 Subie wagon with a push bar, a red-primer LF fender, and mismatched tires on white wagon wheels cruising (for meth I assume) down on East 4th. Licence plate said "7W34K3R". I waved, but the bearded dreadlocked troll-like humanoid did not even look up from his/her lap. Anybody on this board?
