Snipe, as in sniper... you know, sweeping in at the last minute and "sniping" the win with one shot, so to speak.

And I'm all for a fast, RWD, racecar at Laguna Seca.

GarySheehan 2006-02-15 10:33 AM

Gotcha.

OK, while I can't tell you exactly what the next challenge will be, it's WON'T be a fast RWD racecar at Laguna Seca.

Um I meant... "I'd like a slow FWD street car, at the top speed oval."

First post is updated with the results for challenge 5. How about Challenge 6 Gary?

-No shortcuts (keep 2 wheels above paved surface at all times)
Does this mean you cant hit the blue and white corner markers at all?

Eh? What's a "corner marker"? What track are you talking about?

Ezdno 2006-02-15 10:54 PM

Its the blue and white trim that you find going into and out of the corners on either the inside or outside of the track....seattle is was on every corner.

Guys, I'm so busy right now. I don't want to pull a crappy challenge out of my ass. I bequeath my current Challenge Chooser status to Cody, for all of his efforts.

Hey Dean, you can hit the blue and white (or red and white) burms all you want. They count as "paved surface". But if all 4 wheels go in (or over if you jump) the grass or dirt, that lap would be impermissible.

Gary, thanks for letting me set the challenge. I won't be home until 8pm or so tonight, but I'll figure somthing out at that time.

So, does everyone hate RallyX in GT4 or just Sperry? :)

bemani 2006-02-16 08:43 AM

RallyX!

GarySheehan 2006-02-16 08:52 AM

I'm OK with it.

How about:

Car: Subaru Rally Car
Track: Grand Canyon
-Same rules as previous challenge except obviously you don't have to keep the wheels above pavement. :D

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-16 08:58 AM

I think it's just Scott. Grand Canyon is a tough track I think. I still can't beat the Hard race in GT mode.

That's just the only track I can think of. Sombody give me a list of all 3 base dirt tracks, and I'll pick an easier one.

I suck at Google.

bemani 2006-02-16 09:07 AM

Which version of the rally car?

cody 2006-02-16 09:09 AM

There's more than one? I only have one IIRC. It's a yellow and blue and a GC model IIRC.

bemani 2006-02-16 09:19 AM

Okay, so there's only the '99 rally car in the beginning. As for tracks, there's Grand Canyon, Cathedral Rocks 2, or Swis Alps, all of them have normal and reverse tracks.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-16 09:31 AM

I'm not saying I'm not down for it, it is just a challenging track, therefore good. Sheesh.

sperry 2006-02-16 10:11 AM

Wow, there's rallycross in GT4?

http://www.annurallyes.com/modules/M...t-index-01.jpg

Unfortunately, there isn't... that would actually be fun. Instead we get GT4's bastardization of "circular one-on-one stage rally"... whatever that's supposed to be.

If you're gonna pick a rally track, at least pick one that doesn't take 3 minutes per lap. I think 1 to 1.5 minute laps are a decent rule of thumb so everyone can get enough laps in without having to spend 10 hours on it.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-16 10:15 AM

3 minute laps are a bitch. Cathedral Rocks? It's the short one I think.

cody 2006-02-16 10:21 AM

I think you're right Jonny, but I can't remember which is which. Works for me.

bemani 2006-02-16 10:30 AM

I ran a 2'38.248 with stock power level on grand canyon a year ago.

cody 2006-02-16 10:37 AM

Which is the track where you start out by making a sharp left turn that leads uphill for a little bit and then you catch air and turn left all at once? I think that's Cathedral rocks. It's short and I like it.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-16 10:41 AM

Sounds like it.
