Looks like me at work today when the computer (aka pice of shit) I was working on started loading all kinds of automatic bull shit. I just needed to finish some simple task but no the computer wanted to go into some 30 minute long update or something. Glad to be done with that.

Now it's time to go test fit the 235s to see if I should roll the fenders or not. My 615s are ready but it would be a shame to leave the Yokohamas sitting in the garage on Sunday.

Bob Danger 2007-04-13 08:05 PM

I'll be out there on Sunday, to help out wherever I can. Whether it's helping out the noobs with the logistics, or using my services as an expert cone chaser.

M3n2c3 2007-04-14 11:45 AM

I won't be out either day. I've been sick all week.

bxracer69 2007-04-14 11:51 AM

I may come down just to hang out on sunday, shoot the shit.... unless it dumps more snow, which means Alpine will heavily out weigh the first option.

cody 2007-04-14 04:18 PM

How'd everyone do today? I know I had a hoot and a holler.

Nick Koan 2007-04-14 07:49 PM

I did done good I think.

I brought my time down from a 90+ to a 37.2 (plus a few cones, no clean runs so that what you'll have to go by).

I also enjoyed playing instructor when I really am only barely in a position of instructing people.

I watched you loop it pretty good in the afternoon. Alex got us going backward in the slalom. I've gone backward much faster though.

I did a bunch of 37's and a 36.3. :)

wrxkidid 2007-04-14 10:12 PM

i plan on running a 90+37 not a 90 and then decrease it to a 37.2 ROFL. im stoked for tomorrow.

You were leading pax at the end of the first run group

cody 2007-04-15 04:11 PM

:) How'd the 2nd run group go? Did Matt beat the yellow Vette?

Damn it was cold out there. I paid to RNP in the afternoon, but said F that and went home. *shivers*

wrxkidid 2007-04-15 04:24 PM

i ran a 59.46 today +1 cone. my first run was a 66.1 so thats good :)

Nick Koan 2007-04-15 04:34 PM

Nice. Looking out my window at about 2-3ish I got jealous of the track temps.

I bet is was much nicer driving in 50-60 degree weather compared to the 36 degree temps we got in the morning.

MattR 2007-04-15 04:35 PM

No, I came close (If you call 2 seconds close ) I was 3rd in overall PAX when I left at lunch, behind my classmates from Sacto...Overall, I felt great today.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-15 04:38 PM

It warmed up a bit in the afternoon. The sun even came out a couple times. But it was that damn wind that made it real shitty. It was a cool course I had fun.

You ended up 5th in pax, behind the 2 crazy BSP vette guys, a cart and Dave Jansen. The best part though ... if you take out the go-carts, you had the 3rd fastest RAW time of the day  Incredible driving Matt, I can't wait to see what you do in warm weather on those hoosiers!

Scott has the results, he said he would post them tonight.

cody 2007-04-15 04:54 PM

Awesome. Oh, and the most "exciting" part of today was when Tyson lost control at the end of the slalom and "was coming right for us". I saw my life flash before my eyes (as we started running) but he regained control and got back on course. :D

Yeah It would have took a lot of speed for me to slide all the way out there. I knew you guys must have been a little freaked but I already had my foot on the brake.

Joeyy 2007-04-15 06:19 PM

That was a full day with RNP in the afternoon.

wrxkidid 2007-04-15 07:00 PM

yea RNP in the afternoon kicked my ass. im so tired but thats how i got my best time haha.

last run of the day FTW

A1337STI 2007-04-15 07:59 PM

Yesterday trying to run through the slalom with 4 peeps in my car(at least 800+ lbs of people!) was a blast, and really magnified all the mistakes i was making. the spin out was fun though. think my tires are fine... :)

Today was a blast too. lil warmer weather would have been nice for working, but oh well! less traction and more HP made things very fun and challenging.

sperry 2007-04-15 09:44 PM

Results are up on www.renoscca.org.

Me and Cory took down SM in a 2.5RS. Also we beat all you ESP punks in RAW time with what's basically a DSP car w/ a carbon fiber hood. :P

Nick Koan 2007-04-15 09:58 PM

Damn, ESP had 9 competitors today

It was good fun, I just wish I could have gotten at least a little closer to Derrick and Cody.

That's right Bitches!!!! That car was F*ing AWESOME out there! As fast as that course was, I didn't think it'd do that good... 3rd gear FTW!!!

That was just too much fun. And top 20 pax in my 1st SM event, not too shabby! :D

MattR 2007-04-16 07:15 AM

Scott, Mike, thanks for getting those results posted up so quickly, you guys Rock.

Nice work Fuckers...but I'm used to Cory beating me.

I noticed you guys getting into 3rd out there. I didn't realize that the RS was geared nice and low like that.

Dude.. 57.604 < 57.888. Cory beat you in raw time. In an RS. With less mods. How much more beat do you want to be? :P

cody 2007-04-16 09:13 AM

Yes, I realize Cory beat me in raw time. Did you think I meant 3rd place? I was talking about 3rd gear.

MPREZIV 2007-04-16 09:16 AM

3rd gear down the entire back of the course! Just pinned the throttle to the floor and TOSSED the car! It was almost scary, you couldn't get the car outta shape!

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-16 09:22 AM

On the slalom? I pinned it to the rev limited in second before that little chicane thingy. On my last run I got kinda gnarly. I think Brian and Alex probably saw it. You're car looked freakin hot out there. Even thought it was hella cold.

MPREZIV 2007-04-16 09:25 AM

Yes, I was catching 3rd at the last slalom cone, and hanging it through that chicane... That's where I ended up OWNING some cones on my last run tho... 56.6xx +2 :(

Nick Koan 2007-04-16 09:26 AM

Going flat out on that last chicane is where I got a little loose myself :p

But, I didn't hit any cones and I didn't spin (though I easily lost 1/2 a second).

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-16 09:31 AM

It's hard to judge (for me at least) exactly what is going on while it's happening, but I was just glad that I kept the car under control when the ass end kicked out 3 times and each time it felt progressively more tail happy. And no cones. =D And my quickest run. Even tho I never realized what I was supposed to be doing on the last turn until well after everything was over.

 I thought you were stirring the pot and saying "Nice work fuckers (sarcasm)... but I'm used to Cory beating me and this time he didn't". I guess I'm just too used to the shit talking around here!

On a more serious note... Cody, you drove really well on Sunday. We give you ton's of shit around here (I guess simply 'cause you dole it out yourself and are a master of rolling with the punches), but it really is all in fun.

And in general, SECCS made quite the showing at round 1. Check out the PAX results... fully 1/3 of the points paying positions are SECCS members, and that's with 5 ringers from Sac that came up to put the smack down on us.

Oh and Cory, not to suggest that you swap classes but just to gauge our results, you and I would have finished 7th and 10th in overall PAX with the TDSP modifiers. And if your 56.6 had been clean, you would have been in 6th overall PAX, just a 10th behind MattR.

Yeah, I usually compare my overall results against TDSP, but rules is rules, and frankly, I think it's more fun watching the other SM guys walk around scratching their heads 'cause I'm kickin' their asses!

We saw you, it was pretty impresive. I remember thinking to myself, of course Alex said it out loud, "Damn, he was lucky he pulled that off!"

cody 2007-04-16 10:10 AM

Ha! No worries. I try to do all my shit talking before events to psych out the competition. Talking shit after is just mean. :P

NevadaSTi 2007-04-16 10:13 AM

BTW, Nice job Alex at kicking my butt!

Alex kicked ass...9th in PAX.

A1337STI 2007-04-16 10:19 AM

On my last run i tried to just lift a bit on the throttle to make the chicane into that next right hander. but i got the car unsettled and didn't back off in that corner, was going to plow toward the outside cones so i lifted off the gas and touched the brakes and spun out. (maybe next time brake but stay where i was on the gas?) Then the course workers gave me big time shoulder shrug. (like maybe a Why did you lift / brake when you were on the verge of losing it) Highly entertaining! Felt like it was going to be a fast run, doh!

57.X with what? 90 HP and a few gerbils powering your car? That's just crazy talk! Very Very nice driving you two.

and on a side note it only took me 1 year to try out Auto on the DCCD.

NevadaSTi 2007-04-16 10:22 AM

RT615's and DCCD in Auto FTW!!!

Now all you need is a 32mm FSB

I give full credit to my cars autopilot.

zpeed 2007-04-16 01:39 PM

Who took some pictures of my cousin Boxster sliding on Sat? He would like a copy.

wrxkidid 2007-04-16 06:38 PM

hey if you look at the raw times for RNP i got first!!!!!!! hah no scott ran that 57.we just kept forgetting to switch the number on my car haha. so scott you won PAX for RNP and i got 3rd??
nice.

sperry 2007-04-18 10:16 AM

Just something I was thinking about while looking at the autox pictures from Sunday:

Cody, you didn't go back to your stock grill for round 1 did you? Which means that technically, with a 1st in class and 11th place PAX finish, you took a lot of points from people below you in a car that doesn't actually conform to your classes rules.

Now I know that the grill has no real performance benefit, but there are potentially people out there that won't see it that way. Plus, it's just not cool to knowingly run illegally. You probably should go back to your stock grill for ESP, or come play with us in SM.

Sorry to be a rule nazi, but if you're going to be running top-10 in PAX this season, you should be concerned with being legit... even if the rules are dumb.
