Kevin M 2010-02-22 11:04 AM

I'm available tonight or Wednesday.

cody 2010-02-22 12:00 PM

I can do lunch there any day this week since I work so close.

bigrobwoot 2010-02-22 10:13 PM

It's illegal to smoke inside if they serve food there. Remember?

DaveWRX 2010-02-23 11:18 AM

you are not allowed to smoke inside Cue N Cushion, was just there yesterday at the one on 5th and keystone for there $1 coors light.

100_Percent_Juice 2010-02-23 01:29 PM

Is there another Cue n Cushion?

Wasn't there one under the bowling stadium?

Kevin M 2010-02-23 01:58 PM

There was and presumably still is.

I thought it went away... weren't they barely staying in business back when we had the meets there?

Kevin M 2010-02-23 02:13 PM

No idea- I avoid downtown like the plague, except the movie theater.

Renozep 2010-02-23 03:45 PM

There is no smoking in Cue and Cushion. Great 1/2 lb burgers range from $5.95 to $8.00. They have space for 12 people to sit together. It's on West 5th St near Keystone. Dennis

A1337STI 2010-02-23 03:48 PM

North bound traffic on 395, Over to 80-East sucks for sure! :(

Dean 2010-02-23 05:20 PM

Anybody want to go to Cue & Cushion tonight? 7:00ish? So far, nobody has had anything bad to say about location or food.

Kevin M 2010-02-23 05:25 PM

Sorry, not available Tuesdays and Thursdays. :(

Renozep 2010-02-23 06:05 PM

Meet tonight at Cue and Cushion

I can meet you at 7PM. Let me know.

Dean 2010-02-23 06:13 PM

Tamarack. Look at the first sticky in this forum. First post is always current.

I might be able to make wed. @C&C. Been working late every night lately. Tax-refund season I guess. That's good and bad, ya know?

I am a fan of Cue&Cushion food. The Chico burger is really good despite the sound of the ingredients: cheese, bacon, peanut butter, etc. Haven't been there since they closed then reopened a few months ago though. Pretty sure the one under the Bowling Stadium did not make it.

Kevin M 2010-02-23 07:55 PM

I'm in for tomorrow.

bigrobwoot 2010-02-23 09:24 PM

If the meets are gonna be at the Keystone Cue n Cushion, shouldn't they be moved to Mondays? 10 cent beers

I don't want to be anywhere near a place serving $0.10 beers, much less park a car I like there.

Kevin M 2010-02-23 09:34 PM

7PM C&C test meet?

cody 2010-02-24 08:59 AM

Just my two cents, I like the 6pm meet time. I'd rather drive way over to the current location and have it at 6 than drive two blocks to C&C (after work) and wait 1.5 hours for the meet to start. But that's just me.

I hear you, but 6PM would be tough for anyone on the south end of town.

Yah, I guess I'm realizing I'd rather have it on South end of town then. But it's not like I make it to every meet anyway.

A1337STI 2010-02-24 10:57 AM

There's a BJ's near tamarack junction ,

and a newly opened bullies on steamboat parkway (off double R) that Shouldn't be busy at all yet as its very new...

Both have large amounts of parking and would have people going Against the major rush hour traffic..

I really love the food at BJ's but it may be a lil pricey

I haven't been to a Bullies before...

You mean the BJ's that has a 60 minute wait most nights and costs $20/person? And the Bullies that just closed because it put them into bankruptcy that there's a thread about already?

:P

Yes that Bully's Lets go ! ... HEY WAIT A MINUTE!

What about the buffalo wild wings? (maybe also packed at night i only go there for lunch) :?: But they have a lot of TVs and usually have SPEED on !

100_Percent_Juice 2010-02-24 05:03 PM

Buffalo wild wings is teh suck. IMO

Kevin M 2010-02-24 05:40 PM

BWW was a terrible meet spot, we tried it for a few weeks not long after it opened. Too far south and the menu is too limited (duh). Plus they can't seat more than 8 people or so together.

I'll be at C&C tonight.

norbeaster 2010-02-24 06:21 PM

I live right up the road, will stop in for a beer... got the all black rex as most of you will have no idea who I am.

Dean 2010-02-25 08:12 AM

We had 5 people show up for the test meet!! That is more than we get for some regular meets.

I think C&C was pretty good food wise even though they screwed up my burger. Menu is typical and comparable to Sully's.

We didn't play any pool, but could have. The place was mostly empty. Parking is fine.

I'd meet there or FuddR so far.

MattR, any update on that bar you found?

MattR 2010-02-25 02:11 PM

No, I haven;t had time to check it out....But I do know that the commute from South Reno is not an issue, as it's better to use mcCarran to get there than the freeway anyway.

knucklesplitter 2010-02-26 10:30 AM

I liked Cue and Cushion. It gets my vote so far.

100_Percent_Juice 2010-02-26 01:07 PM

I would be there if it were on Monday or Tuesday night. I am always down to sink a few balls.

So, Carrie and I went to Woody's last night for some beers and food...The place is really good, all new inside, tons of TVs , pool, shuffleboard and couple options for pushing tables together for a big group. Also, we noticed it was pretty cheap...I had wings (which were awesome) and fries for only 7.95 and Carrie had a burger and fries for 6.95 and Newcastle on tap was $3. They have a big menu with lots of options, kind of like Sully's only with more sandwiches and pastas as well.

The waitress said there should be plenty of room on thursdays for us, and if we decide to make it a regular spot, we can reserve tables. I think this would be a good meet spot. It's in an industrial area so it doesn't seem to have a huge crowd so far...and there's plenty of parking.

It takes about 12 minutes to get there from South Reno at 5:30 if you use McCarran, and it's about 1 minute south of the McCarran Exit from I80 in Sparks.

Maybe others should check it out...but this would get my vote over Cue and Cushion...
I hear they're opening another one in Reno somewhere, but I don;t know where.

Sounds cool.

Anybody want to do a test meet earlier this week?

MattR 2010-03-07 09:14 AM

I'll try and make it one night..

knucklesplitter 2010-03-07 10:14 AM

I need to get my shop open, so we can do the meets there. If only that building next to Fantasy Girls was available to lease.

Kevin M 2010-03-07 01:39 PM

Monday or Wednesday works for me.

You'd have to re-class your business as "not for profit."

Haha - looked at a place right across from Diamond Dolls today... seriously. They were just putting up the for-lease sign whilst I was scouting locations on 4th St.

I've seen Woody's. Not far from Summit Racing too - I love that place.
