BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfield took on the 'ring this weekend in his F1.06 car.

Unfortunately it was fitted with demonstration tires (less grippy than they use in the F1 races) to encourage him not to push it too hard :P

But is it possible to build a forged aluminum block any other way? The only way to save material is to cast it, but then it's not a single forged billet.

...'course there's nothing stopping them from sweeping up the 9 lbs of shavings and recycling them into the next engine block.
