I saw Jonny's car yesterday parked on the corner of Ralson/Codel/Imperial when I was walking to school.

cody 2006-03-01 11:36 PM

I saw a black STI with the plate, "BYYOURV8" on Virginia tonight. Anyone here?

MattR 2006-03-02 06:08 AM

I think it's "8YOURV8", I've seen that guy, but he's not on this site.

MPREZIV 2006-03-02 07:17 AM

He's a street racer. Always revs at me trying to race. He must think I'm stupid! Even if I did want to go street race, I would have to be a MORON to try running an STI!

Cute Pete, real cute. I am hella sick and got sent home early from work so I went to the gf's house to hang out.

cody 2006-03-02 09:14 AM

Ah, okay, I wasn't positive on the plate, and that's actually a much better idea for a plate. He did make sure he passed me on the way to his red arrow where he showed me how to stop real fast.

That's pretty lame if he's reving at other Imprezas. Besides, the RS's strength is obviously aesthetics. :P

Yeah, there are some Subie owners who are assholes. I think it's the combination of a fairly cheap, turbo'd and awd car that entices previous Honda owners.

 You're prolly right.

DARKSTI 2006-03-02 09:45 AM

I know sometimes I throw a rev at someones car I like (especially when i had the cobra and the loud exhaust). Its not always wanting a race, just like saying nice subie. Just my .02 cents

cody 2006-03-02 09:48 AM

^^^^I do that too, but I make sure to roll down my window and wave so they know I'm not an asshat.

Yah, I lol'd the first time I heard it too. Good eye too.

MPREZIV 2006-03-02 10:44 AM

this guy is trying to race me I'm sure. he'll bolt off from a stop light, then slow back down to where I am, and drop a gear and fly off again. Over and over again like this just on Monday night when i saw him on McCarran. Ass

A1337STI 2006-03-02 04:11 PM

I rev at cars i like and other subarus at times. when i do it to other subarus while moving, i'm doing it so they can hear my BOV (stock ) ;) i dunno i figure they'de like it. i often wave, but i'm still not used to the tinted windows (why don't they wave back???)

omfg, i saw a Black STI this morning when i turned right onto highway 50 (i was sierra at tahoe bound) and i got to drive next to him for a lil bit. he seemed like he wanted to race, (i just wanted to drive side by side fer a bit) i let him zoom past but he got stuck behind a truck at a light and tucked in behind me . i took off really fast (to make sure i wasn't holding him back too much) and stop at like 4 over the speed limit. lol he shot past me pretty good. someone in a baseball cap i thought.
that anyone here ?? :)

Yeah, I get a kick out of WRX/STi owners popping their blowoff for fun. I'll wave back.

SlickNick112 2006-03-02 11:21 PM

Yeah, poppin' off our "stock" blowoff valve is soooo cool, because you can almost hear it!

 :P

A1337STI 2006-03-02 11:25 PM

I have a K&N short ram air intake . i've seen up to 60 people look at my car at once when i had a loud one (infront of the casinos in tahoe , snowing, several hundred people walking around with skis and snowboard to the gondola, seemed like a good place for some needless noise and attention) lmao lmao ;) ( i was under the speed limit too, just floored 2nd for a second and left off )

At least you have one now.

Maybe I should have gotten plates that say TRBOENV. :D

Make us proud and do a drivetrain swap! :D

The only chance I have of getting that done is dependent on whether I can convince my wife that a $13,000 STi swap is a better idea than just giving her the RS and buying myself an STi. And then, of course, I'd need to have $13,000 lying around.

A1337STI 2006-03-03 10:13 AM

if you did a drivetrain swap with an STI, that means tranny reduction gear and the Center Diff ? (Plus DCCD ) ?
or just the Tranny ?

and btw, yes the stock BOV on the sti is loud enough for people to hear at least 50 yards away. if you are not going through the stock subaru silecner. I've been told you can do a simple (20 minute) mod so that the stock BOV - escapes directly to the atomosphere, instead of back into your air intake system. and that is suppost to really increase the noise from it. i think i like the noise level that i'm at though ... :)

You don't want to do that Man. The ECU expects the blow off to return to the intake and if it doesn't get it, you'll run rich between shifts. It's not a big deal or anything, but it's certainly not ideal. Most BOV's that work fairly well on Subarus are adjustable so you can do half atomospheric and half recirculating or somthing like that. The only mod I'd do to a stock valve is the one that allows it to hold more boost if you upgrade the turbo.

Oh well yah, do that then. Much better idea.
