You could get a set of wheel locks from Summitt or Discount Tire Direct?

I dont really need said lugs so yah if she got some looking lugs somewhere then the wheels could be on sooner :D

when I bought my SDR's I got 20 lugs and 4 lockers, then I bought the 20 C-West lugs, so the 20 are just sitting around :D

How many do I need I thought I only needed 4 tires X 5 lugs ea.=20.

He forgot to put them in the box. They will be here tomorrow. May not really matter though because the tire shop still hasn't gotten my tires in yet.

Make sure they are the narrow spline drive lugs or you will scratch the new wheels.

Congratulations!

Damn, she beat me to it... 4x5=20 is correct... You do not need 24.

I also have 20 of the "tunner" hex drive lugs that are not the greatest but will fit just about anything if you need them...

P.S. did your wheels come with solid valve stems? What color? I have some nice blue aluminum ones if you want... I'm looking for Red...

I don't think that I'll need the driver lugs, but thanks.

I can't recall what color valve stems. Come to think of it does anyone know if they are supposed to come stock with wheels when you order. I wasn't asked anything on them. I'd definately be interested in the valve stems, if you could bring them tonight just incase mine didn't come with any. This way I won't have any more chances for holdups.

Dean 2004-09-23 01:40 PM

It all depends... Some do, some don't. Solid stems are cool, and opinions vary, but I think they are well suited for the street. They should just be checked every time you change wheels for good/soft seals/washers.

Some racers say the rubber stems are bad because they can get cut/torn out with a little rubbing... I think anything that can hurt a rubber one is just as likely to bend/deform the solid ones...

My race wheels have rubber because the get changed every set of tires. I like the look of the matching Lugs and stems eric and others have...

That's why I'm looking for red ones, or at least silver for the RPF1s...

I'll bring them tonight...

Solid stems SUCK ASS... because they're held on inside by nuts that inevitably come loose. Which means, you'll have a loose piece of metal bouncing around inside the tire eventually. It's happened to me more than once...

Dean 2004-09-23 02:34 PM

Properly installed solid stems do not suck ass, or anything else...

If the nuts fall off, it is because they were not installed properly!

Sometimes, it's not the sex that ends a relationship. In fact, it's the sex that keeps it going for 12 months after it should have ended.

I spoke with Luke today. He quoted me $454.97 for the Winter Sport M3's out the door at the Reno location; but they won't be in for 2 to 3 weeks.

He further mentioned that there is no longer a discount for I-Club or other car clubs etc., that this is their normal price.

FYI

I've seen solid valve stems where the nut goes on the outside, I even sell them at Napa. And the ones with the nuts on the insides have a jam nut as well, so they shouldn't back out unless they weren't put on tight enough. I like solid stems better, mostly just a looks thing I guess.

Yeah, I realized later that I should have mentioned that there is NO discount whatsoever from TireRack, except for wholesaleres (and that's not much) and sponsored drivers. The "hookup" is excellent service from Luke and a knowledgable sales and service rep who can answer any questions you can ask him.
